We have been visiting Arara for the third time. This is because everything adds up here: you get everything you can expect from a B&B and in addition you get Lenie and Jan. Sure, to make this count you need to connect but that proves remarkably easy. They will try to associate all guests and when succeeded they retreat to...

My wife and I were tracing my grandfather's experiences in WWI as he fought in and around the Argonne during 1918. I chose B&B Arara based on its central location to the battles that were fought here and b/c of its reputation. Also the owners have a great knowlege of the war and a lot of interesting pieces collected and...

Montfaucon is a tiny village located maybe 30 kilometers from Verdun. The reason that anybody would travel here is to explore the battle of Verdun and the American military experience of Verdun. You are surrounded by everything Verdun and the giant battle that took place over years of fighting in WW1. I can't think of any other reason to visit...

My wife and I spent two weeks in March, 2016, driving through France, in a great circle clockwise from Paris to Verdun, then through Lorraine, Alsace, the Loire Valley, and Normandy. This was a pilgrimage, in this centennial year of Verdun, to see where my Grandfather had fought, been wounded, and decorated in 1918 in WWI, and where, not too...

We enjoyed double room and superb large shower room toilet and large sink with comfortable towels An extraordinary chambre d'hotes with invalid bathroom facilities on ground floor. The food prepared by Leni for evening arrival was of a very high standard and meant we ate there regularly Friendly couple and son who ate with us making the experience homely and...

Your hosts have dedicated themselves to providing great accommodations and great breakfasts to history buffs wanting to see the many World War One monuments, cemeteries, and battlefields in the area. They have amassed an amazing collection of WWI relics, and practically have their own museum. Needless to say, they are extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding history, and occasionally serve as...

As stated by other reviewers, this B&B is ideally situated for exploring the American Meuse-Argonne battlefield, cemetery and monuments, plus, the Verdun battlefield is not too far away. Jan and Lenie are very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and the American involvement in the war. Both of them have traveled to America on multiple occasions, and their English is very...
