Our party of 5 used the Sierpe River Camp for a 4 hour morning, private river boat ride, passing mangroves. The birds were too numerous to list, the highlight, for us, was Scarlet Macaws. We also saw owls, king fishers, a variety of herons and more. There were monkeys which were hilarious and a string of bats sleeping on a palm tree. Our guide was one of the BEST of all our trips. This is a reasonably priced excellent way to see wildlife and enjoy a slow boat down the river. This experience surpasses Manuel San Antonio and Corcovado for pure viewing pleasures. I recommend the earliest morning tour, the river gets busy afternoons.
The quaint cabins, which are run by a friendly local named Carlos, are located far down the Sierpe river, truly out in the middle of pristine nature, making it an ideal hub from which to go explore the vast variety of nature and wildlife around, and at a very low price for the area. Carlos offers all meals at a very comfortable price, and also has his own boat and tour guides to offer tours to any of the big, and lesser known, attractions in the area. I would highly recommend this to anyone who's looking to get off the beaten bath a little bit and explore the Osa Peninsula in a more intimate way.
