We booked the largest villa for myself and husband and two twenty something daughters- it was big, with two big bathrooms. Bed was super comfortable and like all the villas and spaces in this extraordinarily perfect place-beautifully furnished and immaculate. The restaurant where we dined every night serves delicious and healthy food very graciously; you can sit anywhere you like and it’s all gorgeous. There’s a long pool in the middle of the site and although there is a lagoon right next to the resort we never saw or heard a single mosquito- my main worry, as I am allergic and they usually dive straight for me. Sal is really knowledgeable about everything to do and we booked a wonderful, cheap massage, and a private boat trip to the mangrove forests, through her. She was so patient with me despite me asking a hundred questions! I was so very pleased to have experienced this serene and special place and only wish I could have met the owner who funds the next door animal sanctuary with the profits. She has great style and vision.

We’ve never failed to come here to eat the last few times we’ve been in Langkawi, but we’ve never actually stayed at the Bon Ton before although 4 years ago we stayed at the then-sister resort, Temple Tree.

We had booked the Silk Villa which has the requisite amount of space needed as a family of 5. My points to note from our stay:

1) I’m glad we booked this when our daughter was a bit older, she’s 4 now and capable of moving around autonomously. I think the accommodation would be less suitable with younger kids.

2) After a while, the continental breakfast which consisted of sliced bread (very nice homemade bread by the taste of things), yoghurt, milk, cranberry juice and cake delivered and placed in your fridge the night before, got a little old and tiresome. After the third day we took to hunting out hot local breakfasts.

3) Amenities provided include shower gel, shampoo, bath salts and a bar of soap. There are no shower caps or anything extra, so bring those along if you’d like them. In the room they do provide umbrellas and walking slippers to use which was much appreciated.

4) You can use the pool towels to take to the beach. Return them at the end of the day to the dirty towels basket.

5) My husband is vegan, and it wasn’t easy getting him food. I thought the restaurant might cater more vegetarian options but it didn’t have much although the kitchen was happy to try.

6) Mosquitoes - I made the mistake of thinking closing all the windows and doors before sunset and the use of mosquito netting and a mosquito coil was sufficient to keep us bite-free during the night. It wasn’t, my daughter and husband ended up with multiple bites after the first night. So in the end I shut all windows and doors by 4pm, placed the netting around the beds and sprayed the room with mozzie spray before we left for any afternoon/evening activities. By the time we got back the smell had dissipated and we had more pleasant nights after that.

Overall, this is a truly unique, boutique place to stay. You have a certain amount of privacy, the attached shelter for cats and dogs are great for those wanting to teach kids how to give back to the community and ours loved going over to pat the cats and dogs, and the staff are lovely. If you want a personal touch and a taste of authentic Malaysian living, perhaps you can’t get better than this. Thank you Bon Ton, it’s been magic.

Bon Ton Resort is a 10min away drive from Langkawi Airport. We rented a car for easy moving around eating and buying duty free stuff.

It’s nearby Lassie a place and cafe for dog and cats adoption. This villa is equipped with a pool , Nam restaurant and free wifi . I particular choose the white frangipani room that has a single bed for my girl.

What I enjoy the most about bonton is the Netflix, the wooden tub and also the friendly service from the staff especially Syamir that served us. When we arrived at bonton, we get to unwind with a glass of wine. Wow 🤩 that is amazing

Would strongly recommend and comes back again as I feel relaxed and feel so cosy just chilling around the sun deck area. Not noisy and you will be surrounded by nature and breath in cool refreshing air

I stayed in Bon Ton Resort in October for about a week and it was the perfect place to unwind and relax. The grounds are lush and green, the resort has 3 pools for guests to use so there's always a spot of your own. The villas are wonderful, unique experience. To stay in a historic, hand carved wooden villa steps you back in time with all the mod cons.

The restaurant on site serves a range of great food and drinks with attentive, friendly service. Bon Ton also funds a local animal shelter located near the resort, so I volunteered every morning there and returned to the sanctuary of a pool swim, a relaxed lunch and a nap in my villa. Absolutely perfect, with a great location for sight seeing (for those that want to get out and about)....I'll definitely go back.

Our stay at their largest unit, Cahaya, for 3 nights was utterly delightful. Breakfast was delivered to your house and it consisted for delicious breads and cakes, in addition to juices, yoghurts and preserves. The decor fits the bill of a rustic space, but everything was made comfortable, including TWO air-conditioning for the main bedroom. It is worth the money you spend to experience this, a place like no other. My small gripes were the potholes on the gravel road leading to the property, and that there needs to be a skimmer available to skim leaf debris from the pool before a guest swims. We will be staying here again if/when we return to Langkawi!

My wife and I were supposed to stay at Bon Ton in March 2020, however, due to COVID, we, unfortunately, had to cancel our trip. We proceeded to ask Bon Ton for a refund which they verbally agreed to do. Unfortunately, Bon Ton had to make a manual transaction over the counter at Maybank in order to process the refund. This took a while since banks were not open until June. Bon Ton provided me the necessary documentation to follow up with Maybank as Maybank was very slow in their correspondence in processing my refund. Turns out that Maybank required more documentation but never took the initiative to contact Bon Ton. When I contacted Bon Ton myself, they were so responsive and supportive. A lady by the name of Sal provided me assurances that she will follow up with the bank with my refund. She even provided me weekly updates to me where she didn't have to. I finally received my refund from the bank, but the lasting impression I got was not the process of receiving my refund, rather the excellent customer service I received from the Bon Ton Staff especially Sal. On my next trip to Langkawi, I will definitely stay at Bon Ton... it's the people that make the hotel charming, not just the surroundings! Thank You Bon Ton staff for the undying support during such a troubling time.

It’s a smaller menu than usual given COVID, but the food... wow. Great quality. We went three courses, pumpkin soup and samosas followed by the prawn and pineapple curry, which was magnificent and the bbq chicken with mango salad.
Then we ordered deserts... OMG. They were huge and AMAZING.
We shared the Strawberry and grand mariner tiramisu - which you MUST order and the ginger and macadamia stewed apple pudding with ice cream.
Needless to say we didn’t eat much the next day.
Only cost RM200 along with a couple of cocktails.
Great ambience, lovely setting.

A good picturesque resort resembling a local village with the rooms being wooden structures on stilts. Its a rural setting looking out over wetland on one side, a veey nice outlook in the mornings eating breakfast. Wood and rural means a not entirely sealed structure so you sleep under mosquito nets with supplied electric repellents, which worked, no bites in 4 nights. The rooms can get hot so run the a/c for several hours before bed. Modern amenities as well as a/c with good WiFi, fridge, tea and coffee facilities. A basic continental breakfast is delivered around 6.30pm for the following morning for you to prepare and eat on your balcony. Unless you are in the Blue room which has no balcony. And eating there indoors is not comfortable. Breakfast is also a bit limited. Bread with butter and jam, cake, some fruit and yoghurt, juice tea or coffee. If you don't like yoghurt, not a lot.
The rooms are set well apart from each other in a pleasant garden area with a good size lap pool. Usually quiet around the pool although it did get busy one day when 3 of the rooms were occupied with families of 2 children each. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful, the iced water at poolside in the afternoons was particularly appreciated.

The restaurant was of a very good standard. Well prepared and presented dishes with great service. Food deserving of a bottle of wine which was available from R105 a bottle. Main dishes from around R50 upwards.

There is one big negative, the nearby mosque. I don't mind the morning call to prayer at sunrise, its local culture. But I've never experienced a 10 minute loudspeaker preamble 1 hour before sunrise, at 06.00. Then another 10 minutes at 06.30. Then another ten minutes at 07.00. Its like the mosque is next door, there is no ignoring it to get a good night's sleep.

We went to one of our favorite place after months of self isolation for lunch,We were so excited.
We ordered from an extremely limited menu. Total cost 114 Ringettes after a ten percent discount. The meal was horrendous. The worst I have ever had on this island., on delivering my Austrialian meat pie, then waitress informed me that it maybe cold in the center because it had been in the freezer and may need to be microwave again! Both of us has exactly one bite and felt immediate discusted. It tasted terrible. We left the plates. No apologizes, and full payment!

This is my favourite place for cocktails every time I visit Langkawi. This time I came with a friend and we ordered cocktails (cranberry mule & pineapple juice) and tapas (fried calamari and crispy pita bread with parmesan) while waiting for sunset. It is such a quiet place and so relaxing. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. We spent our time talking and taking photos around the restaurant and the staff suggested few areas where we could get some nice shots. This is such a great place for couples to spend a romantic evening together. We were very lucky to see a flock of birds flying like they were putting a show for us during sunset and that was amazing!
