We by all means loved the waterfall and could not believe that there was no one else around. But this hostel is horrible! Service is never there , so you have to wait for everything, room rates are really hike $50 (we got it down to$35) for a without breakfast witch is $6 pp! There is nowhere else to stay...

We stayed here as a welcome break in the long trip back from Cuyabeno and Lago Agria. We loved the location by the river and watched the volcano puff away from our bedroom window. This is a really interesting hotel with a mix of well appointed rooms and cliff top cottages within its quirky grounds. The staff were super helpful...

Location wise this can't be beaten. 1 minutes walk to the spectacular waterfall. But that is it's only selling point...and I think the only reason why this place is still open! The room was okay - cold water in the shower, decent wi fi, satellite tv, fridge. There is nothing around the hostel, no where to eat etc as it's...

We enjoyed several nights in a cabin on the mountain side with incredible views of the volcano. Rooms are clean and comfortable with hammocks on the balcony, we sat outside and watched the sky light up. Waterfalls on the property have fun swimming holes to enjoy but if you prefer they have a very nice pool. The owner is very...

This hotel does have some great facilities and the location is great if you want to visit San Rafael Falls. However, at our stay the experience was ruined because of poor cleaning at our private room/bungalow. The facilities are actually great - and even though it is located next to the main road, the traffic (and noise) were limited during...

stayed here a night to be able to check out the San Rafael waterfall. Overall was impressed, very easy to get to by bus literally off the highway (you do hear the traffic a bit, but not bad). Rooms were clean, place has a nice pool with a water slide, seems like it would be great for kids. A large...

I wanted to see the Waterfall and stayed at El Reventador. The owner Joselo and his wife were very kind, the room clean and there are a few things to see around the hotel. I definitely recommend this hotel and don't understand the bad reviews. The food was not amazing, but still very OK.

A wonderful place to stay and the waterfalls and volcano in this area are not to be at all costs. Almost no foreign tourists seem to stop here and this only makes it more amazing. Visit San Rafael Falls just a 30 minute walk from the hostel and keep your eyes out for monkeys and amazing birds on the way....

We were on our way from Quito to Lago Agrio for one of those jungle tours and thought it a good idea to stop half way and stay at El Reventador. This hosteria seems to be the only one in the area, especially if you want to see the waterfall. I suppose that is why they can afford making up...

We spent the night here because it was one of the few places located about halfway along our journey from Quito to our departure point for our Amazon trip (east of Lago Agrio). It turned out to be an excellent place to stay. The delicious food (especially the fresh smoothies!) and a game room with a pool table made for...
