The hot spring experience was good, not their service, foods or rooms. Lots of tourist specially from China, they steal my towels three times, and they are noisy, bring foods and coffee inside, quite annoyingly. Day trip most preferred.
I originally booked two nights. Was amazed with the hot springs, at night and during the day. A brief but bright display of the northern lights right behind the activity centre, topped it off to make it worth my while. Having said that, every staff...More
The outdoor hot springs is a good experience esp when the water on your hair turned to ice when you enter the water. The jacuzzi pools inside are smelly and dirty, so are the showers and bathrooms. The restaurant food is most disgusting, we used...More

It is very hard to get a room at this resort during winter month. We stayed there over new years and had a great time. Luckily we found available rooms at the goalaskatours.com webpage. No rooms were available on the Chena Resort webpage.

We rented a car in Anchorage for the two weeks we were in Alaska. There are tours that will take you to Chena Hot Springs, however a car gives you the flexibility to stop and enjoy and photograph the beautiful scenery and wildlife as you want. The grounds at the Hot Springs are beautiful. The ice sculpture igloo is a must see, also the sled dog kennel. Time did not permit us a horseback ride through the area. It was a fun Alaska adventure.
