We stayed at Wiss House for one evening, and it was gorgeous! Sara was an attentive host, and we greatly enjoyed the gourmet 3 course dinner and breakfast she provided. The location is easy to find, the pool is refreshing, and the house is just beautiful. We were so relaxed and refreshed after visiting Wiss House!

Stunning from beginning to end! Arrived on Friday afternoon to a welcoming afternoon tea on the verandah followed by a stroll through the quaint Town of Kalbar, sunset on the back deck then a candlelight 3 course dinner in the dining room - highly recommended! Sara is a brilliant cook - desert was sublime! Bring your bottle of wine to...

Thankyou so much Annie for taking the time to write a review and what a great review! So glad you had such a relaxing time and enjoyed the the 3 course dinner so much (the wood smoked salmon pasta is my favorite dish to eat too) and it seems the wild berries poached in Cointreau with a chilled vanilla custard...

My wife and I stayed at Wiss House for our wedding anniversary. The setting is beautiful and an ideal base to explore the Scenic Rim. Sara was helpful and very welcoming - it was a nice tough to be served home made afternoon tea (blueberry cake and tea) on the verandah upon arrival. The room was nice and the bed...

It's a beautiful old home with lots of rustic charm that takes you back in time. I particularly savoured the peaceful mornings on the huge verandah. Sara our host was wonderful - she was...

Firstly, I'd like to congratulate the consummate host, Sara, on running such a wonderful retreat in Wiss House. Her guest book is brimful of nothing but high praise for 'the House' (more like a grand manor) and for the level of friendly, welcoming, professional service that Sara delivers. What a terrifically restful few days we had taking in Kalbar and...

Remember these old houses did not have en-suite facilities even in the master room so 3 rooms remain that way but are all in 1st class condition with plenty of room. The 4th letting room is smaller and does have en-suite facilities but it losses the doors to veranda the other rooms have. We had this room for convenience but...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review Raymond and for your very high appraisal of the three course dinners you enjoyed here. Quite an historical and beautiful large Queenslander once belonging to wealthy people, but now just a little tired. This experience is touted as luxury, though the room wasn't serviced, towels not changed, no face washer, no security - not that we felt there was a need, necessarily. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not...
