Lots of activities including a nice pool, horse riding and water sports by the lake. Just driving around the township and stopping at several joints serving street side food is fun. Plenty of photography opportunities too.
Breakfast spread was good however it was overcrowded and created stress on the service. On the other hand, dining at Namak was a wonderful experience. Lagoon is a good option by the lake. The watch tower bar at the end felt like a well kept secret with stunning views.
In case you're staying at the chalets, get a room on the first floor rather than the ground floor as the wood makes a lot of creaking noise as people walk around.
Great for a peaceful getaway as a couple or family.
So i would love to rate u guys on the scale of 10 as follows:
Location: 10/10
Hospitality: 10/10
Cleanliness: 10/10
Dining experience:
a. Namak: 10/10
b. Woodpecker: 9/10
c. Lake front cafe: 8/10 (less options in food menu)
Laser Show: 8/10
Room decor to celebrate my wife's Bday: 11/10 +1 mark to Mansi who co-ordinated with me at regular intervals and keep the surprise intact till 00:00hrs.
Overall experience: 9.5/10
A must place to visit. Keep up the great work. Cheers to d team.
Terrible service
Nobody answers the phone, for 2 days I kept calling the housekeeping nobody answered
Even the reception doesn't answer calls
The mini fridge didnt work it took them 1 and a half day to replace that
They charge you for extra cutlery even after picking up food from the restaurant within the premises
They charge you for fresh glasses and cups, when i told them that its used and i need new ones, someone actually came and washed the glasses and cups in the bathroom!!
None of the restaurants follow Covid protocols, and if u follow them and manage to take a take away from the restaurant they charge you for the plates.
After all of that the food is very mediocre
They even charge you for an ice bucket, even though the fridge doesn't work.
Its surprising that they dont charge for the air you breathe
Anytime you call the DUTY MANAGER he is unavailable
If ever anyone answers the call and you make a complaint, they ask to be kept on hold or that they'll call you back and then never pick up your call!!!
This really is the worse service ive ever experienced, trust you dont wanna waste your time and money on this place
The beer is for 500rs but with tax it becomes 750, 50%tax!!
For the breakfast there's a 1 hour waiting.
Buggy drivers refuse to drop you anywhere, you have to wait forever for the buggy to come pick you up
The alternative to that is to walk to your car from the room, where the pathway is completely dark without a single light.
The rooms are extremely dusty
The housekeeping/in room dining dont come to clear your plates, if u keep it outside the room it remains there till eternity they dont clear that, eventually monkeys come and finish off the left overs and clear the plates. Monkeys would run this place better.
This entire review doesnt do justice to how terrible the experience oh sorry the lack of experience was.
Despite repeated instructions to Mr. Akram and Ms. Ritu from front desk regarding the challenges that we were facing upon check-in, there was absolutely zero support from their side. Please find below points for your perusal:
1. The room lights were not functioning properly and the entire room was dingy. Attached video for your reference. Mr. Akram and Ms. Ritu promised that they would send someone, but there was no one who turned up till today morning
2. There was a complimentary cake which was supposed to be delivered in the room. That never happened. And no one bothered to check as well.
3. My wife is pregnant and we told Mr. Akram that the WC is too low for her and she was struggling to use the same. Again, no response and all he kept repeating was that we are fully booked and we can't do anything.
4. There is absolutely no Covid appropriate behaviour at Woodpecker. People are not being asked to put on a mask while approaching the buffet. We recently were at The Westin in Mumbai, and they are excellent at maintaining Covid appropriate behaviour. How can you guys not take Covid seriously? Isn't it a shame that you call yourself 5 star and this is the kind of service that you have?
5. We were promised to get the room changed on 28th August, but no one bothered to call or check. Your team thinks of us as illiterates who just wanted a free upgrade. However, there was zero empathy shown despite repeatedly saying that it was my wife's birthday weekend and that it would be her last trip before her delivery. No one cared. Is this the kind of service expected from a so-called 5 star ?
Please be informed that I would be posting this entire experience on all social media handles, so that people know what kind of pathetic service you guys are providing in the name of 5 star.
I am utterly shocked to see the kind of pathetic service and people that you have hired to take care of your customer grievances. Please ask your team not to use the phrase Sahara Pranam, if they have no idea what it means and how to keep the service impeccable. Thank you so much for ruining such an important weekend for me. I don't think I would recommend or visit Aamby Valley ever again.
The housekeeping is horrible. Our coffee maker in the room was stinking, we asked for a replacement and he got back the same one after cleaning which we realised because it was still stinking.
The housekeeping knocked the door and he just barged in with the master key to give the towels despite knowing there are guests inside which was absolutely shocking
Third thing in our absence the housekeeping entered and kept the stuff in our room.
This was simply an unsafe experience. We always had to keep our room locked.
You guys really need to train the staff well. No social distancing maintained no protocols in place
We doubt if the rooms also were santized.
Woodpecker restaurant is too slow, people working there are not happy. AC was not on for lunch even if there were more than 30 people including kids having lunch.
Lake front cafe is good and people there are humble and fast. Tasty food at both the restaurants though.
For the price paid, no room sleepers, no iron - only ironing board, hair dryer not working, shaving kit absent, open wires below bathroom mirror..very risky, drainage at bathroom horrible, it needs five minutes after your shower for water to drain out, same with wash basin. Overall room upkeep not good, Cobwebs at corners, previous guests hair on sofa welcrow, sofa seems not vacuumed for ages, bedsheets stinking of previous guest's perspiration, balcony light not working, in-room coffemaker kettle leaking and the mugs were not cleaned, minibar empty, white fridge turned yellow and not working, bath towels not washed properly, no laundry bags, no laundry, etc etc.
Garbage everywhere including empty liquor bottles in front of Aussie rooms, disposable dishes, condoms and cigarette butts. Also the sever domes in front of Aussie rooms were open which is risky from reptiles perspective.
The property seems neglected and they are only focussing on hosting large groups from Mumbai and Pune for conferences at the cost of proper service, room upkeep and hygiene. Not recommended!
We also had a snake in the outer area of our parents room ! It was so scary for me that I refused to be alone in the room even for a minute.
There was nothing relaxing or luxurious about this holiday .. it was so stressful.
Does the management think it’s easy to keep changing rooms especially with a small child with all the luggage ?? They seem so helpless while dealing with our problems. Cld only shift is from one crappy suite to another crappy one.
Saw this same thing being done with the other guest while I was there… it looks like a normal practice. They know there are problems but they don’t want to repair/address them … only keep shifting guest from one room to another.
There is absolutely no maintenance at this property nor is the owner/management interested in doing so. It’s like a chalta hai kind of an attitude.
Room service is expensive… will arrive after an hour with cold food & missing cutlery.
There is nothing grand about their buffet either … it’s repetitive & basic.
Amby Valley is truly the nearest heaven on earth to both major cities, Mumbai and Pune. We truly had the best weekend outing ever.
Thank you.
Better go with Hilton which is on the same hill mostly 15 min away from this property.
Over all experience is very bad. Spoiled my anniversary.
