We stayed for 2 night in a sea view villa, they have open bathrooms so you have to be prepared for a mosquito palouza when you go to the bathroom first thing in the morning but other than that it was lovely, clean with a comfy bed. Right on a secluded beach (which needs a good clean but still lovely) with a huge refreshing pool. We watched the most amazing sunset, beer in hand, overlooking the beach, absolutely idyllic.

We ended up at the D'Coconut Villas after leaving our previous hotel as it was so filthy. We found it on a booking website sitting in the foyer of the dirty hotel and just turned up to see if they had any rooms, which thankfully they did. Anyone thinking of staying needs to know a few things: it is in the middle of nowhere, the police academy the nearest neighbour and currently has no restaurant, or half the villas, as it is still very much under construction with work going on daily. Even our finished villas, were still not 'finished' wth bare rough concret showing and othere finisheing touches required. When we arrived the pool was filthy with leaves and bugs and they spent a good many hours cleaning it over the 2 days so that we could use it. The price was too high considering they had no water in the rooms, no restaurant and no wifi in the rooms but we were in a bind and the surroundings were so lovely we did not mind for 2 nights. When this place is finished and has a restuarant I think it will be a spectacular retreat. The property is alongside the bottom of the airport runway but we didn't find this a problem, the first plane is maybe at 8am and the last at 9pm and only maybe 1 or 2 an hour. We had a taxi take us to a supermarket and had noodles and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the 2 days we were there, sat on our verandah watching the sea.

Small laidback beachfront place just outside the airport, run more like a b&b than a hotel. Airplane noise did not bother us too much. d'coconut has that languid vibe and amazing sunset view that makes you want to just sit on your porch or in the small garden and let time pass. Staffed with friendly kind people with occasionally questionable service level. I did wish they try harder in getting the small details right but maybe it's just the case of training? Ie things like putting up curtain right, making sure the towels are absolutely fresh, or keeping the lobby clear from clutter - these would have made the place perfect. The compound though was immaculately taken care of. The garden room is just ok, but the Seaview chalet is breathtaking. Uninterrupted view of sunset from your bed. I don't have an intimate beach wedding to plan but if i did, this venue would be perfect. Children friendly, with a small pool and access to beach. You need transport to move around. Beware of mosquitoes though. Slather yourself in repellent at all times.

I stayed for 5 weeks. I really enjoyed my time there. I was made feel like family. No request was too much trouble. Mr Vassa is an excellent host. The staff are great. Very friendly and polite. I tend to eat the local food when travelling in Asia but if you are fussy for some home (Western) food, the ladies that cook breakfast do a great job (large meals for a good price) and they have an Irish guy that cooks great western food at night.
I felt relaxed and at home. There are mozzies at night but it's the same wherever you go in the tropics. There are nets for the beds and all you do is plug in one of those insect vape thingy's and there is no issue. Some people just need to harden up and stop whining. Over all I give this place 10/10 for customer service, value for money and the water view (had a great time lying in bed watching the water the and wildlife), and I liked the open air bathrooms.
Get some bait and a fishing rod to keep the kids busy on the beach while you have a beer and dinner.

Blacklisted hotel from my side.
Rude behaviour and after making full payment, my booking was cancelled and asked to pay double the amount in which I made the booking 60 days in advance.
I booked for 1N stay on January 1st, but they spoilt my vacation. Good I got all the communication on email as evidence.

I had to book in another resort as they didn't let me check-in.

No matter what other facilities this place offers it will be marred by this experience at D'Coconut villa. We checked out today because of a deeply unpleasant experience regarding animal cruelty on their premises.

This morning after breakfast we passed through to reception to log on to the (not working) internet, and were approached by a friendly and timid dog who we assumed lived on the grounds. He was not aggressive and simply wanted petting which we were happy to do. Suddenly one of the employees appeared with a long rope and chased the terrified dog around until it was caught and led away. We went back to our villa and could hear the sounds of a dog being brutalised, it was outside the grounds so we followed the dog's yelps to a shed. We could hear the dog being WHIPPED with a stick and the agonising yelps that followed will haunt me for a long time. We saw the employee in the doorway holding a metre long bamboo stick and called for him to stop. He saw us and didn't seem to think he was doing anything wrong until we told him NO with hand gestures. After this he left.

I was deeply distressed by this experience and we decided to check out. We asked to speak to the manager and were put on the phone to a woman who took down some details. Nobody else at the resort seemed to share our horror at what had happened. We were informed at reception that despite our complaint we would not get a refund for the remaining 2 nights. It's not the receptionist's fault, I think she didn't understand us very well.

We feel we probably should have done more and if anyone else can recommend who else we could report this to, please advise. However we are only here for a couple more nights and didn't think approaching a badly beaten dog would end well.

We stayed at this hotel with another couple of friends, and we had a wonderful time. The service was perfect, the room excellent, with an incredible view (we stayed at the seaview room). The swimming-pool was nice, perfect for a quick swim before heading out. The breakfast was decent, the food from the restaurant was also ok. But the highlight of the hotel is the beautiful sunset, for which we would come back every night, to enjoy it with a couple of drinks and snacks. Will definitely come back to this hotel

We stayed at D'coconut Villa for 3 nights and it definitely made our trip to Langkawi a memorable one!! It has a rustic charm to it which made our experience unique. The room was spacious and was what we were looking for. We were also lucky to get a room which has a nice view of the sea and sunset.
It was very convenient to get to from the airport and also super close to Pantai Cenang. The manager was very friendly and accommodated our request to have arrange a seafood bbq by the beach for me and my wife while we watched the sunset. Thank you D'coconut Villa!!

If you are looking for a cheap stay on the island nearby from the airport (do note because its near the airport it tends to get alil loud but if your inside your villa it is unnoticeable) with a good view, peace and quiet with a pool you can hog all to yourself this is the place.

The place is a alil run down poor maintenance but doable the staff are friendly and nice throughout the whole stay was even greeted with a huge coconut to drink while they prepare the room since we were early.

The villa’s were awesome just alot of mosquitoes if you leave the doors open too long but you can ask the front desk for an aerosol and they are happy to oblige.

You can forget about the TV ain’t nothing on it they said it was because of a blackout but i have my suspicions they just cancelled the subscription, internet is only at the lobby area so don’t believe when they say there is internet. But truly who needs tv and internet when you are in paradise!

Food wise the restaurant looks deserted at most and serves Arabic food (sorry guys no pork here) however, they do to special requests but the per head cost is ridiculous RM100 is not worth it! You would be more happier visiting the local night markets for food also just a few hundred meter along the coast its a food truck hang out area so just follow your nose and you wont go wrong.

Overall, if your not too fussy then this is an ok place despite the earlier comments.

Visited this place for 3 nights, off-peak season. If you are looking for peace and quiet, it's the place for you.
I think.i was the only guest!
You'll need to get a taxi into Cenang for any nightlife and I wouldn't bank on the restaurant being open out of season.
Tv - forget it - no signal
Wi-Fi - only on the reception area
Pool is lovely
Villas are right near the sea, as described
Actual room was beautiful, with a 4 poster bed and an "outdoor bathroom".
