This is truly a lovely place but was just not the right vacation for us. We went with our son and his girlfriend who wanted an eco-lodge. The first night we arrived there was a 6 inch scorpion next to his bed. He killed it...More
Stayed in "lapa 'cabin for 3 nights. It has a great view and I think it is more private than some of the others. However if you want to see a sunset this is not the best cabin in march . As many people have...More
I cannot wait to visit Bosque Del Cabo again! Had the best time ever last November when I visited with a couple of friends. I normally don't like to write reviews but I felt the need to share this perfect vacation spot with others.
My boyfriend and I traveled to Costa Rica in May of 2013 and stayed at Bosque del Cabo for 3 nights towards the end of a 10 day trip. It is definitely a bit of a splurge financially, but worth every penny. Neither of us...More
All of the staff were polite and helpful, our regular servers even remembered our names which was nice and made for a comfortable stay. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept.
We stayed 5 nights - 2 in "Lapa" and 3 in "Tucan". The...More

I've never been in late July but have been there in mid August (twice). It rains, but generally not in the morning and generally only for 1/2 hour to an hour at a time during daylight hours. Bottom line -- I've been to CR like 5 times in the green season (twice specifically to Bosque) and it's never been an issue.
Check CDC, but this particular area is surprisingly low on biting bugs. We were just there with a 5 and 6 year old and didn't have any worries.
Finally -- make sure to stay at one of the non-cliff edge cabin as/villas. Just ask them which options those are. I wouldn't do the garden rooms with a 4 yo, tho -- going across the suspension bridge in the dark with a 4 yo would be tricky.
If you like to hike and, with the 4 Yo, don't mind pool time and staying around the open area u(lots of animals come by throughout the day), min 2 night, 3-4 ideal.
