Great staff, great food. a very relaxing get away. There is a lot of jungle wildlife to observe and enjoy. It is a lodge in the rainforest, not the Ritz in Manhattan (one is a jungle, the other is a zoo)

Encanta la vida has everything you need and nothing you don't. Remember, this is an eco lodge in the rain forrest that runs on solar power. Don't expect air condition or plugging in your hair dryer. Most people interested in air conditioning and hair dryers shouldn't even go to the rain forrest. If you are interested in the rain forrest,... More

I took my wife and kids to Encanta La Vida in Matapalo. It was the the best trip of our lives. The Encanta is a beautiful lodge tucked away in the fauna and flora just steps from the beach. As an ocean family, the pristine beaches and surf breaks were pristine, uncrowded and clean. The Encanta La Vida lodge staff is... More

My family (2 adults, one 9-year old) just returned from a fantastic 10-day vacation at Encanta La Vida, and I already want to turn right around and go back! The short list of highlights: monkeys and birds, warm beautiful ocean, amazing food, connecting with staff and other guests from all over the world, and plenty of relaxing in the pool... More

I came to Cabo Matapalo at the end of June by myself. I had a week off and all I wanted to do was sure, read books in a hammock, and not look at my phone for a week. I initially only booked 3 nights, figuring that I might want to travel around the area some, and stay in other... More

We happened upon this lovely resort while on a day drive to Matapalo. We were looking for a place to rent a surfboard. By the time we found this resort the waves had calmed and we decided against surfing. The visiting yoga instructior was very friendly and chatted with us, providing us with some helpful information. The bar looked inviting... More

“Our family of 5 shared Deluxe cabins 1 & 2, which are the upstairs and downstairs of the same building. We could have all fit into either space, but that would have been a bit crowded -- plenty of sleeping room but for that many people there would have been limited storage space. It was lovely and nice to have a hot shower as an option. Both rooms had electricity and a small fan next to each bed, but the power went out about 10 p.m. so those fans don't run all night. Not a problem for me, I was always asleep by then anyway.”
