I was in Malacca with my family on a long weekend break. We stayed at the Watercity Resort. The apartment was really beyond what I expected. There were cobwebs in the apartment and the aircon was dripping water. The shower in the bathroom was not working and the bathtub could not be used. It was noisy at night and we had to wait for more than half an hour to get a table to have breakfast.

Also the staff at the reception was very rude and snappy and did not have any idea what hospitality was about.

Please do not ever stay there and this being a self-proclaimed 5-star resort.

This hotel used to be called the Melaka Watercity Resort. But a few years ago it was acquired and refurbished by another company and is now known as the Melaka Gold Coast International Resort. There is a sister resort located at Morib, and the same company runs both these resorts.

Anyway we had a 3 day 2 night stay at this hotel. We found it generally quite average. The rooms are spacious (apartment concept with two bedrooms and two baths) so it is suitable for a family holiday. Basic toiletries, towels, coffee making facilities and mini fridge are provided.

The vicinity is nearby (about less than 10 minutes drive) to Ayer Keroh where the Melaka Zoo, Crocodile Farm, Butterfly Farm, Mini Malaysia, shopping mall (AEON) are located. Melaka town itself is around 20 minutes by car, which isnt too bad.

There is a huge water park in the resort, so kids will have a good time splashing about.

The problem with the place is that at the block where we stayed, the lifts were not functioning properly. The were rather run down and is in need of major maintenance. Waiting time for a lift was a drag, especially if you stay on the upper levels.

Worst resort i have ever been in my life. I went with my husband, my 7 month old baby and 2 friends who are married. Rosy brochures but in reality its so horrible. At 730pm rooms are not ready to check in. We got BLK 1 and when we checked in, room is dirty, smelly and curtains were half down. They were doing fogging outside and we were still waiting outside our room for housekeeping to clean. When we want to go down, the lift broke down and we (4 adults) were inside with my 7 month old baby. Thankfully my husband and our friend forced open the door abit for us to breathe. We shouted for help on the small gap of the lift door for so long and some resort guests helped us to get hold of something to stick it in between the lift. My baby was crying inside as she cant breathe properly as there were no ventilation and not enough light.

The lift was dim and with cracked floor tiles and mirrors, buttons were not working and close button was inserted deep inside. We were stuck not the same level to the level outside. We had to call the Fire engine ON OUR OWN while waiting for the maintanence workers to work on it. Imagine this with a baby inside the lift. After 40 mins we were out, we demanded a full refund as we do not want to stay at that resort anymore. Cant access to Wifi at lobby also.

PLS DO NOT STAY AT THIS RESORT!!!!!!!!! I have no idea why this resort is fit to be operated.

Went to Melaka during the Raya holidays with my in laws... didn't had high expectation on the hotel after reading through the reviews so went there with open heart.

first problem I encountered was the credit card service was down and thus we had to gather all our available funds to pay them in cash up front.

Entered the apartment and found that the unit has been left vacant for some time and thus it has those smell... the floor was dusty but the linen was clean... guess the housekeeping didn't clean the floor when they change the linen earlier. Anyway, I asked housekeeping to come clean the floors again and also asked for a broom to clean up just in case it was still dusty...

Despite all these, I still consider it is rather ok. Why? no crowds... had the swimming pool all to ourselves and the furnishing was considerably cozy (even though it is a little old)...

Went there over the weekend with a group of 10, not a trip I want to remember. Buildings look nice on the outside, but plagued with maintenance issues.
Some of the corridor lights were not switched on, plunging the whole corridor into darkness. We also encountered some rooms that had puddles of water on the floor, presumably rain water. The bathtub can only be used as a shower, as the stopper was missing. Room service only for lunch and dinner (?). Airconditioner is not working well. Rooms look run down with water-damaged paint and hastily installed door latches. At least the sheets are clean, and hot water comes quickly in the shower.
Breakfast at the hotel was buffet style with limited choices, and seem to lack manpower in topping up the buffet table and clear used tables. My request for cutlery was not acknowledged but I did get it in the end. The flies are also irritating, but some of them do get killed by the UV fly-killing device installed above the kitchen. You get to hear the satisfying crackle of electricity if you sit close enough to the kitchen entrance.

We checked-in into a 3-bedroom apartment on the 7th floor, despite the fact that we have requested for a lower floor when making the booking.

The apartment is spacious enough to hold 7-8 persons. The facilities offered are sufficient - they have ample parking spaces, hot shower, large living room, dining table for 6, 2 double beds + 2 single beds and a microwave in the kitchen. Outdoor facilities are great for kids: large swimming pool, go-karting, kayaking, train rides, etc.

The nice ambiance however is marred by a very LOUD music blaring from the Reception/Hotel Lobby. This started as early as 8.00 a.m. (during weekends!) and goes on for the whole day.

If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing weekend with your family, this is not the place for you.

The title says it all. It had been touted as a new resort but there is nothing new about it. When we check in, first thing that strike you was, 'this is really run-down!' The lift button was upside down, arrow facing down instead of up when we were on the ground floor and there is no basement. Even the emergency stairway's door knob was missing. The room... Worst. No aircon in living area. Tv reception was so bad, you cant watch anything. For a 3 room apartment, the fridge was a mini container. Toilet was flooding. Aircon was dripping water like waterfall. Door cannot be lock for one of the room and balcony. ALL Lights for one of the room was not working. No a single aircon controller for any of the 3 rooms. Even the safe in the room was not working. The lists goes on.... Definitely wont recommend to anyone! The Bayu lagoon beside that we stayed the kast time was way better.

spent a night at the premise, attending company family day. the facilities seems ok from the outside, but once we stepped in the accommodation block, the nightmare began. no towel provided, citing they cant cope out with a sudden surge of demands in view of big crowd. only 1 access / main key provided for an apartment with 3 units of rooms. 1 of the fitted air condition at the room was malfunctioning. Bathroom is such a sad state, due to ill maintenance. in addition to that, only 1 elevator was in functioning to cater a block of 8 level of accommodation, plus and again, no air ventilation at the functioning unit.

other then that, facilities wise is comparable with the adjacent resort, and the quality of foods served is better

We have just returned from a 3 day 2 nights office trip at Melaka Watercity (100 pax). The apartments were in a very bad condition. Most of the lights are blown. the Aircond is out of gas and not cooling at all. The maintenence people knows nothing about customer service...and aircond service. Most of the Facilities are not well maintained.. dont try the Go-kart, waste of money. the food was terrible. The service was terrible. Dirty table was not cleared. Not enough waiter/waitress. The fried rice for breakfast was even stale/mouldy. last but not least very limited towels at the pool.

Please don’t stay here it will ruin your holiday.

The best is the water park. It have all the basic stuff that water park should have, the 'beach', the kids playground etc. It also have a jacuzzi pool to warm you up. Breakfast was terrible, not much of a choice and the taste was not that good. The room looks 'old' with all the furniture but it was quite spacious. You have to walk to go to the water park because you could not rely on the buggy service too much even though its not that much of distance.
