I first stayed here back in the early 2000's. On my return this weekend I've noticed vast improvements, the rooms are new and modern, with luxury bedding and near instant hot water showers. Free tea and coffee facilities in the room. No TV's in the rooms but one in the communal lounge if you need your fix. 3G mobile internet...

Witsieshoek is back to it's former glory after MANY years! All the rooms have been revamped and there's more renovations to come at the admin block and conference centre. They even have an indoor pool area planned for the future. Currently, it is really pleasant, beautiful views, delicious food and friendly service. The new hiking trials are wonderful too. All...

Stayed here for two nights so we could hike the Tugela Falls and was really pleasantly surprised. Amazing location - literally in the middle of nowhere but with fantastic scenery. Rooms were large and really comfortable with great views. Food was plentiful, hearty and delicious and the packed lunches provided for our hike were fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful...

When you are anywhere from the World, you won't miss this small heaven right at the top the Drankensberg mountain in Eastern Free State. The point of entry is Phuthaditjhaba in Qwa-Qwa. This hotel is for those who are in love with nature . My stay there was short. The Sentinel rooms are are top of the range. The food...

I must agree with others who have described this as a gem, cozy, etc. The recently renovated chalets are gorgeous and clean, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Jan and his staff went out of their way to provide hospitality and friendly service, from the servers in the pub to our guide, David, who accompanied us up the mountain...

Even though it was November it was very misty and almost magical in the Drakensberg mountains. My family were doing a practice climb in prep for Kilimanjaro in Jan 2017. This was the perfect spot within walking distance of the Sentinel Peak. Witsieshoek Lodge is set in the most picturesque place - it is remote so remember to take cash...

We chose to stay here as a base for exploring the ampitheatre and sentinel. Our first day was shrouded in cloud and paying for the wifi in the lodge lounge was an expensive distraction but tempered by the friendly and helpful staff. When the sun came out the place was transformed with stunning views of the drakensberg revealed. The large...

We had read Tripadvisor and were slightly put off by the vitriol of a previous guest. So our expectations were open-ended to say the least. From the moment of arrival to our time of departure we were delighted with our stay. The setting in the national park, with its magnificient views is outstanding (albeit, shrouded for one whole day in...
