We stayed at this hotel in April 2002 for 3 night. It was booked as a special offer deal. The first night my boyfriend stayed there alone because I was delayed for a day. I arrived the second day, and was pleasantly surprised with the room. It was a good size room with a huge bed, couple of chairs, table,...

We stayed here in August 2004 and as the photographs show, our room was spacious and very pleasant. In fact we have just booked to stay again in March 2005. The location of the hotel is ideal for exploring the historic heart of the city. It is just a few minutes walk to the Charles Bridge and within easy reach...

My husband and I spent four days in December in Prague, staying at Best Western Hotel Kampa. This was a surprise trip for my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I wrote to the hotel requesting a nice room overlooking the park and asked for a bottle of chamagne for us on arrival. I received a letter back from the...

I just returned from Prague and the Hotel Kampa. At first glance I could tell it needed some redecorating and updating. Also the staff at the front desk did not seem to speak English well...or understand it. As a result...they were no help with tour planning, restaurants etc. I expected more from a 4 star hotel. I think Best Western better...

We were sent to this hotel because the Mala Strana double booked us. So after 14 hours of flying we finally get to the hotel Kampa. The first room they put us in was great. At first Fairly large nice and airy. Then my wife noticed a coulple of spiders, then we noticed a few more. As we started to...

Very disappointed as I expected a lot more from a four star. It was in a lovely quite area about 20 minutes walk to the main square. The first problem we had was that there was no air-conditioning. The staff were very nice and gave us a fan for our room. But I would not recommend this hotel in the...

Recently stayed at Best Western Hotel Kampa in Prague. Quite expensive but excellent location near park and river Vlatava. Be aware - some construction work going on at present on flood defences following floods, but noise not an issue. Hotel courteous, rooms comfortable, if slightly cramped. Excellent range of food for cold / cooked breakfast to accompaniment of live pianist...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
