N intimate ambiance and excellent service. Occupying a historic medieval building, the charming Charles Hotel has been beautifully restored whilst retaining many of its original features. The Charles Hotel is situated close to The Charles Bridge. Surrounded by good selection of bars and restaurants, this intimate property enjoys a romantic ambiance. Located in the charming historical district of Prague Mala Strana (also called Prague Lesser Town or Little Quarter of Prague) and close to the famous Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, romantic Kampa, Petrin parks and just across the bridge to the rest of Old Town. The Hotel Charles is part of the Royal Road, which starts in Nuremberg (Germany) and leads all the way to Prague Castle through the Powder Tower, Wenceslas Square and across Charles Bridge. All 31 rooms of our hotel are air conditioned. 25 Rooms and 6 suites are reflecting the building's rich heritage and providing our guests with comfortable accommodation, an exceptional service and modern amenities. Baroque-style rooms include satellite television, minibar, in-room safe and hairdryer. Breakfast room and lobby bar are necessary to make you feel special. Friendly, attentive staff and a perfect location make it an excellent choice. The Charles hotel is romantic accommodation in the middle of Prague history!

Wow! stunning hotel and perfect location for exploring. The breakfast was so good and you couldnt beat the selection considering it was a continental buffet. Every morning there was also a small selection of hot food... and an amazing coffee machine 😍 the macarons on the first morning were a fab touch so thankyou for those!
we only have good things to say about this hotel we are really glad we booked it 🧡

We stayed here for a few nights at the beginning of March. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just at the end of Charles bridge. It is surrounded by excellent bars and restaurants.
The hotel is a beautiful old building, our room had high ceilings and was nicely decorated. We had tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, a fridge and mini bar.
The hotel was very warm, sometimes too warm, so we had the window open.
Breakfast was very good. There was a small selection of hot food, normally eggs, and a nice selection of pastry’s and cereal.
Breakfast is downstairs under reception. This area is a Chinese restaurant by night.
My only criticism was that the rug in our room needed a hoover and the throw on the bed needed a wash( in my OCD opinion)
Perfect location, definitely worth the money, you can walk everywhere from here.

Dear guest We would like to thank you for your time to share a review based on your March stay. It is great that you took the advantage of our perfect location right in the centre and walked everywhere. We are delightful to know that you were happy with your room and appreciated its decor and amenities too. We are glad that you also enjoyed the breakfast. Thank you for pointing our some minor insufficient cleaning issue. Even though the rug and bed plaid are cleaned daily or after every check out, we made amendments so they got a deep cleaning. Hopefully there will be another chance to serve you in the future. We would be pleased to welcome you next time. Yours faithfully Jolana Hrotkova Guest Relations Manager The Charles Hotel jolana.hrotkova@hotel-charles.eu

This authentic Czech hotel is extremely convenient for seeing the Castle. The Charles Bridge (gateway to the old town) is about 5 minutes’ walk and Wenceslas Square is a 25-minute walk.
From the time of booking to checkout, we were impressed by the level of customer service. We arrived quite late to Prague airport so appreciated the (hotel-organized) car which met us and charged the standard taxi rate. Having the car organized by the hotel was also a good way to ensure that we took the “correct” car transport as scams can sometimes be a problem in Prague (more so if one is just hailing a taxi on the street). On our way back to the airport, the hotel organized another car for us. It was conveniently all part of our final invoice.
Our room (which overlooked the main street) was very comfortable. It was beautifully furnished and included shower products, a hair dryer, robes and slippers. The minibar was well-stocked, and the coffee machine worked well.
The bedding was lovely – especially the pillows! – although the mattresses were firmer than we like. However, that’s just a personal taste. The draperies and furnishings were superb, and we enjoyed the views out on to the street, watching the street life while we had our coffees.
The breakfasts were excellent – delicious and comprehensive. Extra points for providing gluten free options (not always so easy to find in Czechia) in the bakery section!
As mentioned above, the hotel is ideally situated for walking, or the tram stop is just around the corner. The tram service is excellent – very punctual and clean. It’s also easy to use. Foreigners can use credit cards to purchase tickets once on the tram.
A word about street noise: I see previous comments/complaints about the bar next door – the Blue Light. Yes, patrons can be very noisy but, let’s face it, it’s a big city and it can be noisy. If you want the convenience of staying a few steps from the Charles Bridge, you best be prepared for characteristics of another city that never sleeps (much). Given that it can get noisy if you face the street like we did, a tip is to ask for a room on one of the higher floors. We stayed on Level 3 so it wasn’t too bad.
In all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We will definitely return to The Charles Hotel. A big thank you, in particular, to Svetlana and Yohannes who made our visit a most enjoyable one!

My first visit to Prague. When we arrived we were a little sceptical the hotel would live up to the photos, but from the moment we entered we were blown away - so grand! Every room I glimpsed was gorgeous (am nosy). My room was warm and very clean, the older furniture reflected the style of the city and was very grand. Tea and coffee in room and a lovely big comfy bed. The bathroom was modern, fab shower and cleaned every day with fresh towels. The reception staff were great, always a manned desk and always friendly and helpful (my friends asked to change room because of some night-time noise (I didn't hear it) and they were given a new one immediately - the staff moved their things for them. The breakfast was good, loads of choice and all freshly prepared. Thank you Charles Hotel staff, especially Samir on reception who sorted my lighting out.

I stayed here for 3 nights in April 2022. It was part of an easyJet package and was good value. The hotel is a bit quirky, very clean and very close to The Charles Bridge on the Lesser Prague side.
The front of the hotel is easy to miss as it's a simple wooden door, in keeping with the charm of the area and pleasant, clean streets. The staff were all helpful and friendly. English is widely spoken here. It is interesting that the hotel does not have any communal areas other than a few seats, just past reception and the basement breakfast area. There are stairs and a lift to all floors.
The room (202) was warm and comfortable. there was a small offering of tea, coffee and so on, with cups and a kettle. Take your own if you want decaffinated or extra. There was a selection of 'mini bar' drinks and snacks, most of which were in the fridge and a price list is provided. There is a safe provided too.
The en-suite was very small but manageable. The soap/shower gels are wall mounted, budget bottles and you may wish to take your own. The towels are of good quality.
Breakfast was poor in my opinion and could only be classed as basic 'continental' but better than nothing.
The hotel is very good and the selling point is the location. I wouldn't hesitate to use this hotel again.

This was my third visit to the Charles Hotel and, as before was excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful (especially the breakfast room staff).
The hotel is perfectly placed for the old town in one direction and for the castle in the other. There are lots of eating places within a moments' walk.
The breakfasts are good if a little limited if you're a meat eater, but you can help yourself.
This time I was in room facing onto the street and over the next door bar (Room 107) and this made for some noise at closing time but not excessive. If noise bothers you, ask for a room on the inside.
This time there was a shower unit, on previous visits it has been a shower attached to the bath. They are suitably hot. Towels, liquid soap and shampoo are provided.
There is a member of staff on duty all night so you can go out on the town returning as late as you like.
I have enjoyed every stay I have had here and, no doubt, will be returning there on my next visit to Prague.

We loved everything about this hotel, it has a warm and charming feel from the decor and friendly staff. It felt like an intimate experience yet we got to interact with other guests at breakfast in the quaint cellar area. The breakfast had plenty of choice and was always fresh. Our room was large, clean and overlooked the Main Street in Mala Strana, it was nice to watch the world go bye while we rested after a lot of walking. The Charles hotel has the perfect location with the Old Town just a 10 minute walk away over the bridge and the castle just 15 minutes walk the other way. Every member of staff were friendly and helpful especially Kristina who spoke excellent English and went out of her way to make our stay even more memorable. We would love to visit Prague again and will definitely be staying here when we do.

The hotel is perfectly located - right in the center and within walking distance of the tram, bus and most major tourist attractions. Unfortunately, the hotel is very old and needs renovation, especially when it comes to sound insulation. We experienced being woken early in the morning due to vacuuming in the room above us. In addition, it is therefore not possible to experience Prague's famous nightlife and bars without coming home to the room and getting complaints from neighbors and management. We came home after drinking a glass of wine after dinner and talked in a normal tone in the room afterwards. This was followed by a scolding by the owner from the hotel and threats to be kicked out. So it can't be right that you can't have normal conversations in the room without the neighbor being able to follow the whole thing. This experience was of course super unfortunate as the hotel is otherwise super nice and the other staff really nice and service minded.

This hotel is very traditional in its interior, which may not be to everyone's taste, however would definitely say it has so many positives.
Its lovely and clean.
The breakfast is well catered for and very delicious, despite some negative comments on trip advisor. Not justified from our perspective.
Staff are so very pleasant especially the gentleman night porter & Katarina, receptionist.
The location is perfect, just on the Charles bridge and a 3 minute walk away.
Please try this hotel is lovely.

It possible to take taxi from airport, but I'm suggesting to book the private transfer from either "Talixo" or "GetTransfer" company. The price from Talixo is about 19 Euro. GetTransfer may be chipper. Talixo or GetTransfer you should book in advise
pass on that but the hotel staff will help you no problem.
