Four of us enjoyed a stay at The Charles Hotel. Our room unfortunately didn't have a painted ceiling but our daughter and boyfriend's did so we got to see how charming it was. Both rooms were spacious and very clean, the bathroom had a bath & shower which was excellent. Staff okay, wouldn't go overboard but no issues with breakfast...

I went to book this hotel for a nice break and booked it via Venere.com. I booked a room and the price was charged in UK £, then the hotel billed me in Euros and the cost was lots more. I went back to the customer Services at Venere and the did not help they said i had to talk...

Stayed here for a couple of nights in June 2012 while meeting up with a friend. Old and cozy hotel. Room was huge and had a nice rustic feel about it. Location is very good, short walking distance to most things you'd like to see. Breakfast in the cellar was very basic but got the job done. A/C worked perfectly...

I wanted just aware all people that want to stay in this hotel and are reading peoples reviews. First of all, hotel is doing with purpose overbookings. So after you have got confirmation of your booking, never be 100% sure you will be accommodated there. This happened to so many people and still so many people keep booking this hotel...

In general the hotel was good, very clean, breakfast as expected for country and very fresh, usually topped up regularly. Staff efficient and as stated a great location. Hotel decoration getting a little worn, tea bags not topped up over the 5 days we stayed, but we had taken our own, and a request for extra pillows was never followed...

We have just returned from a lovely stay at The Charles Hotel. It is in a very central location, perfect for walking to visit all the Prague attractions. On arrival the staff were very polite and had a good understanding of English. Our room was on the second floor, and as requested in our booking was not near the lift...

I was on a short break with my husband and had picked the Charles chiefly for its location, and it certainly is in a great location. Very close to the charles bridge, and very well placed to get to all the major attractions. We found the hotel very nice - rooms large, very clean, and bathroom really modern. I would...

We had a nice large inside room, but the housecleaning needs some attention. Our beds were moved to make 2 twin and there was lots of dust and the carpets have not been vacuumed in ages. I asked that the that be addressed the next morning, but it was not done. The night reception got me a mop to get...

Based on reviews & feedback from friends who have stayed at The Charles we booked 2 rooms for 5 nights with great expectations. Everything as expected EXCEPT: AVOID ROOMS 108 AND 208. They are not featured in the hotel's website nor brochutre. Why not? inward facing window to an enclosd courtyard, therefor no natural light. Next to the lift that's...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
