The Charles is in an ideal location, about 1 or 2 minutes to the Charles Bridge. One can walk to Prague Castle or the Old Town from the hotel. This is a small, reasonably priced, boutique hotel. The room are large and nice. The furniture is old fashioned which make you feel as it you are staying in a relative's...

Our stay at the Charles Hotel was a pleasant experience. The room was very large, on the top floor (4th), with a window that opened out overlooking the busy walking-only "road" entering the Charles Bridge. Although it can be very busy and noisy you can always close the window for quiet times. Our room was clean, had adequate air conditioning,...

Great location and very professional and accomodating staff. Umbrellas provided on a rainy day. You can walk to almost everything to see in Prague and there are inexpensive and good restaurants nearby. Highly recommend staying at the Charles.

The Charles Hotel was the perfect hotel from which to visit Prague. It's only a short walk to either the Prague Castle or the Charles Bridge. There are plenty of Restaurants and the Trams/Subway not too far either. The rooms and service were some of the best we encountered in Europe. They spoke plenty of English and were friendly enough...

We stayed at this charming hotel 10/6 - 16/6, having booked a junior suite through booking.com. Amazed that hotel contacted us a few days after booking - did we have any additional requests? So we ordered a car to pick us up at the airport (arrival at 22H30). Car on time and very efficient, welcome at hotel desk professional with...

I had picked the Charles for its location and positive write up. However, I was a little concerned when I read an earlier review saying that a party had experienced booking problems and were moved to another hotel. We arrived late Thursday after a flight delay to be told there had been an error in the bookings and that we...

This hotel took our breath away! Our room was HUGE with ancient hand painted ceilings. We got a suite, but only booked a double. We had a huge ensuite bathroom with beautiful black and white tiles and excellent quality old style fittings. We had a room leading off from our room through double doors with settees and a table in....

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
