Elegant hotel with plenty of character. The rooms and public areas were clean and well maintained, staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Located on the lesser town (over the charles bridge from the old town) so it was well served by local restaurants etc but just off the beaten track so the street was relatively quiet.

Disappointing case of "bait and switch" when booking a "suite". The room that was allocated was not the same as the high ceiling suites featured in the hotel advertising yet charged the same price. "Suite" was located in the attic with sloping ceilings and had only 2 tiny windows for fresh air. It was hot in the roof cavity in mid-summer despite the air-conditioner. The air conditioner was yellow with age and barely functioned. The pillows on the bed reeked of body odour and had to be changed. The mattress and vinyl furniture were past their use-by-date. The safe was so tiny it could only hod a small wallet or phone. Informed that kettles are not permitted due to the fire risk. Bathroom was spacious but dated with a shower over a deep old bath tub. Breakfast was a basic selection of packet cereals, fruit and pastries. Pastries were not replenished when they ran out - case of bad luck, should have come earlier for breakfast... The U Pava (Hotel to the Peacock) is in a historic building and in a great location but there are multiple levels with steps and spiral staircases that would be a problem for those with mobility issues. Not all rooms have access to a lift. Front desk showed zero concern for any issues.

A very perfect location just in the middle of the Lesser Town (Little Quarter - how locals call) it. - situated nearby a VERY beautiful and definitely non touristy garden. We recommend the pub U Bile Kuzelky (or however it is called) nearby. Friendly staff, everything was alright and according to our wishes.

Wonderful stay at this lovely hotel quite near the Charles Bridge. View of the castle from our beautiful room. And Eleanora was particularly helpful, with fluent English and a delightful manner. A real find! Very good lunch at nearby Bricks restaurant. Only sour note was the driver dispatched for pickup at train station. Poor directions on pickup point caused delay, and the driver was quite angry about that; surly behavior is not cool. But Eleanora fixed the pickup directions for train station going forward. We would stay there again without question.

had a second floor room (205) , sufficiently high to see over the public garden wall and give a fine view of the castle.First floor rooms on this side would look onto stucco and graffiti. The location has minimal traffic noise ( on stone setts) ,and we did not hear any revellers. The room furnishings are almost new, in rich tones and massive varnished hardwood, which I felt very congenial in daylight, but impossibly dark at night, without the use of every single light available.Unfortunately,at least one bedside lamp must be unplugged to get any mains access for charging etc , making the room too dark to read. This could be rectified at trivial cost merely by an extension lead .Apart from this annoyance, the room was highly functional ,with plenty of storage, excellent aircon, good opaque curtains, and new beds. There is a fridge, but no means of making tea.I suspect that the Nespresso machine is seldom used, as there is a charge per dose- I have never previously encountered this. The bathroom was one of the best I have encountered in almost all respects, especially the extra deep bathtub. There is no rubber anti slip mat for use in the rather smooth bath.As with the power outlets shortage , this is another deficiency which would cost almost nothing to correct. Breakfast has good quality ingredients ,with Eillies tea, and acceptable fruit juice .The hot food consists solely of frankfurters and eggs.but this is as expected for a small hotel.Fresh fruit was abundant, and there was plenty of space in the breakfast room. All aspects of the reception, table and chambermaid service ,of which I made use, were excellent. I found the hotel extremely comfortable in hot weather.I am unsure of its suitability for a winter stay. The airconditioner appears capable of a heating mode, but otherwise the room has only a gas fireplace. It appears to be of a sealed type behind a glass panel, presumably to make it suitable for safe use in a bedroom, but I cannot verify this. I have been in ten hotels so far in 2023,and I liked this the best. Read less

As has already been said; excellent location near Charles bridge to direct link to the Old Town. Staff friendly enough. Negatives- breakfast VERY basic. Requested and asked if vegan options available and they confirmed but all we had was a bowl of raw chopped peppers, tomatoes and cucumber. Also fruit available which was the only thing in abundance. The phone in our room did not work so could not contact reception when awaiting booking time for spa from staff. Our room on 3rd floor so had to walk up/down 61 steps to find out. They said they were having problems with phones but I think it was an ongoing issue. No Lift so hubby had to carry heavy bags up 3 flights of stairs. Had to pay for coffee in room which i was unaware of and unheard of!!. Also had to pay E20 for SPA use which I did not know as wouldn't have booked it. Was not allowed to use SPA and Sauna due to risk as could be detrimental to yourhealth (staff said) probably as it increases their costs. Very small rooms (well ours was).

Hotel U Pava in Prague is in a perfect location 5 minutes walk from Charles bridge which is a tourist attraction. Everything about this hotel is first class. The staff are friendly, polite & only too pleased to help. The breakfast is plentiful including fresh fruit & good coffee. The only fault is there is no lift. So we were on the second floor which was quite a tiring walk up for someone who is old & unfit. However that won’t put us off definitely staying at this great hotel next time we visit Prague. Many thanks Hotel U Pava.

Lovely little hotel within 5 minutes walk from Charles Bridge and several restaurants and bars. Close to tram connections to all areas of the city. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, lovely breakfast and friendly staff.

This hotel is an absolute charmer! Beautiful, wonderful location near Karl's Bridge, wall and ceiling murals, stained glass, room decor, all stunning. The tucked-away nature of the U Lava adds to its charm. Topping it all off was an outstanding breakfast!

If you’re going to explore the city, it’s a great choice. Walking distance (but not in the middle) from the certer of the city. It’s close to the Charles Bridge, so it’s a good start to cross the river and make a walk through the old town. Not many amenities, but comfortable accomodations. Very cozy and friendly service.
