Great location for the Old Town - a few minutes walk- plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from close by. The hotel itself we found disappointing - been to a few 4* hotels in other surrounding countries and much higher standard. The WiFi is a hit or a miss in the rooms - one minute your on next you've...

We enjoyed 10 days in this wonderful hotel last year (2013) and stayed here for 5 days at the end of September. Happy to find the same overall excellent quality again. Great value for your money. We'll definitely come again to Astoria!

Maximum 5 minute walk from The Old Town Square, Palladium shopping centre, jewish quarter, powder tower & lots of other of Prague's sights. About 10 minute walk to Charles Bridge. Although it's centrally located, it's in a quiet street so no disturbances from noise at night even though we had the windows open for fresh air. Hotel is clean &...

The hotel is fine in overall, It is located perfectly near the republic metro and Palladium. The old town square is 5 minutes by walk, Carl bridge is near, josefov, Na Prikope, all are few minutes by walk. The hotel itself is nice, but for the price and 4 star rating you'd expect to get more. The rooms are small,...

Great location, checked in early, everything to do around the hotel. I've visited Prague three times and stayed at the Hilton and Central hotel. This hotel was the best bang for the buck I've seen so far.

Wonderful place to stay for enjoying Prague! Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of hot and cold foods. The hotel was centrally located for getting to all the best sights. Lokal restaurant is right down the street with good beer and authentic Czech cuisine.

The hotel is a little bit older but it is very clean and affordable. It has an awesome location in the center of the city close to the old town square but not too close that it is noisy. Also very close to public transit. The balconies are very nice and worth the couple extra dollars.

The location near all the main sites in Old Town is hard to beat. We upgraded to a room with shower on the top with great views of the castle for 30€ per night extra, and it was worth it as we found the lower rooms noisy on Saturday night because of all the people coming out of nightclubs in...

My husband and I stayed at the Astoria for 5 nights in August. We had a wonderful time in Prague and the hotel was in the ideal spot for everything! We could wander through the Old Town Square and to Charles Bridge and the staff were helpful with our enquiries. They always said hello and our room and the hotel...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
