Stayed in this hostel for 8 nights with my spouse. Its cheap and its very worth it. The staffs; receptionist, breakfast lady and cleaner are very dedicated. The location is very ideal as it is within walking distance to Prague castle as well as other interesting destination.

I went inter-railing through Europe over summer staying in 8 hostels or so, and Arpacay was like a breath of fresh air. It's in the perfect location, right next to the castle and really close walking distance to everywhere else. I stayed in a 6 dorm room with another next door, each bed had a task light and the bathroom... More

Location: Fair, 300 meter climb up a cobblestone hill. Friendly staff. WiFi: Poor, erratic connection or none from the dorm room; just okay from the lounge. Bizarre Arpacay Hostel rule that the kitchen is ‘off-bounds’ between 06:00 -12:00 Noon; those off-limit hours should be reduced or changed. No task lights in 4-bed mixed dorm; just a bright overhead light. Room... More

The hostel is - in my opinion - in the best place possible: right under Prague Castle, takes 2 minutes to get up there (1 if you hurry). It's clean and it's quiet. I found the girls at the reception always helpful, even if they weren't smiling all the time (one should not expect that, it's not in the Czech... More

This hostel has a great location (about ten min walk from St. Charles Bridge and a 20 min walk from Old Town Square). We had a four person private room; It was very clean and spacious and the bathroom facilities were also very clean. Towels and linens provided. I would recommend staying here for the price!

The staffs are not friendly with visiting the city and not chatty.. I feel so itchy sleeping even i changed to another bed. The female dorm is right beside the male dorm which is so noisy. The door to the female dorm can be opened without key which doesnt make me feel safe.

Dear Jacky, Thank you very much for your review. I´m very sorry you didn´t feel comfortable at our place. About the safety: nobody can walk in without key when the room door are locked. Unfortunately some guests forget the door opened when leaving. I recommend to use also the lockers in the dorm rooms we provide for free. I´m sorry... More

Arpacay is in a really really good location - you can walk to the castle within minutes. A lot of people complain about the hill but it seriously isn't that bad (even when you have had a lot of beer). The thing about this hostel is that it is fairly large and meeting other folks is pretty tough - there... More

Good location, a 2 minute walk to Prague Castle and surroundings. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, although a little pricey. Walkable to Old Town Square, train and bus station, etc, but easy access to public transport otherwise. It is up the top of a hill which may put some people off. Buffet style breakfast, all you can eat, for... More

I stayed here in the 16 bed dorm and it was fine. They did a breakfast for 75CZK which was really good. The staff were so friendly- they did all my washing and folded it for about 175CZK. The location was good- right by the castle. The only thing I would say is that the bathroom facilities weren't very good.... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
