This hotel has character and charm, and is situated perfectly for exploring the highlights of the old city on foot. The staff are helpful and friendly, the rooms are lovely, and the breakfasts excellent. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and look forward to staying there again.

This is an excellent small hotel in a quiet area of Prague, just removed from the Old Town Square. The staff is welcoming and highly competent--they also give good restaurant recommendations. My room was upgraded to a suite with a kitchen and living room, which of course left me with a highly favorable impression, but all the rooms were well-appointed...

Prague is wonderful place for Christmas holidays. Service at the hotel was outstanding. One way from the airport was free for us (the special offer of the hotel), and fruit plate was waiting for us there. It was very pleasure. It was like to live in medieval castle. The hotel is located just in the center of the Prague, but...

Our family of 4 recently stayed 4 nights in a two bedroom, two bath apartment that was unbelievably clean, spacious, and attractive. After sharing a suite for several nights in Vienna, it was great for everyone to have lots of their own space, including a lovely little terrace which looked out on church spires and provided a wonderful 6:00 churchbell...

We stayed in the Berlin Room and were very happy with the room and the location of the hotel. It's within minutes of the Old Town Square and other popular locations in Prague. We walked to the metro and underground when we wanted to travel further afield. The staff were very helpful and we enjoyed the breakfast in the cafe...

We can't say enough good things about the Residence Retezova. Everything was as advertised. We stayed in the Paris apartment and it was clean and modern but with renaissance era exposed beams. The location was great, just a couple of blocks from the Old Town Square, three from Charles Bridge. Even though we were close to everything, because it's on...

Perfect for a family, we tried two different suites. Both had two bedrooms and bathrooms, and a kitchen. The second one, an attic suite on two levels, had lots of character, but less confortable beds. Both were quiet and very clean. The staff was extrmely helpful, and went beyond its duty in arranging to send us items we had forgotten...

We found this place on tripadvisor and found it as good if not better than the reviews said. We stayed in the Madrid apartment which was spacious and quite beautiful with a good kitchen area. We didn't have breakfast instead went to Tesco up the road - an interesting experience - and bought stuff in for breakfast and really enjoyed...

We spent 6 nights at the Residence Retezova and found it exceeded our expectations in every dimension of service. We were combining business (attending a conference and entertaining colleagues) with pleasure (touring Prague); the Residence was absolutely perfect for both purposes. The staff, especially: Yara and Alec were five-star: professional, friendly, and always present and hard at work! Their English...

We took the travelers package which included airport pick up, a three hour tour with personal guide, and breakfast every day. This package worked out great for us - the airport pick up was a godsend since there was a marathon in Prague that day – we would never have gotten there otherwise. The personal tour was fantastic – we...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
