Certainly the hotel rooms were comfortable and magnificent. The location cannot be beat. All these things were top of the line but even more important was the superb service and friendliness of the staff! We encountered at least 8 different staff people during our stay, and without exception, they were smiling and ensuring that our stay was memorable. We looked...

We rented out the entire hotel 8 rooms for our family gathering. When we found out that the restaurant downstairs in the hotel was closed due to remodeling, the hotel manager offered to provide traditional Czech meals at their breakfast room for us. Delicious homemade dishes were prepared by the parents of the manager. The manager arranged a special cake...

Beautiful family-run hotel in a landmark building. I stayed there with my wife for 4 nights. The room was beautiful. Very charming and comfortable. The service was impeccable. They really go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. Can't get a better location than this. Right in the old town. Walking distance to Charles bridge and right...

(Combined business/holiday trip): We liked the hotel a lot: the room (family room) was beautiful, the staff very nice and helpful, the breakfast good and fresh (coffee was good, too! - not lukewarm or heated up for hours) with good enough choice. It is noisy outside, but when the windows were closed it didn't bother us anymore. Location was superb....

Since Prague was going to be the last city on our trip, I decided that we should spend a little more money and stay somewhere truly historic. My parents (who are Czech) joined us on our last leg before flying back to Canada - so I needed a suite that held 5 people. After much searching I found the U...

After looking at many hotels and reviews in Prague for months, U Zlate Studny kept looking the best. It is great that you can choose your room from the video on their website. Just book early as they are popular. It was everything we expected, friendly, helpful staff, comfortable large room, great atmosphere around the hotel and walking distance to...

This charming little hotel is right in the old town, on the main street that goes from the main square to the Charles Bridge. Very small, with great service. Our room was very large, with a high ceilings, sitting area, a table, a fold out extra bed, and a little foyer. The bathroom was surprizingly large and updated. Three of...

Nestled beneath Prague's sprawling castle, between a bustling urban environment and the castle gardens, is this jewel of a small hotel. Created from adjacent historic buildings, the hotel offers a charm and elegance that is seldom experienced, even in this part of the world. Under independent management, U Zlate Studny has its own distinctive style, punctuated by comfort, delightful service,...

This hotel was located within walking minutes of all of the main attractions (Old Town Square & Charles Bridge). Our room for a family of 4 was very comfortable with charming decor and plenty of room (2 room suite actually). My husband and I stayed here for five nights for our 10th wedding anniversary. They upgraded us to a beautiful suite. It was bigger than our apartment in NYC. It's a small hotel, eight rooms in all. It's very private, we only saw other people at breakfast. The breakfast was great, meats, cheeses, cereal, yogurt, eggs, bacon, or sausage. Everyone...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
