excellent and quiet location (just five minutes walking to the prague castle, and 15 to downtown) away from busy touristic prague. we had a huge room with two king size very comfortable beds and vaulted ceilings. literally two steps away from top restaurant strahov monastic brewery where you can eat the most wonderful gulash in town. very good breakfast with... I stayed at Hotel Monastery for 2 nights in May after staying 3 nights at another hotel in Prague. Everything was so lovely, a very helpful receptionist who booked us a table at a fully booked restaurant, breakfast with a great variety of food, cosy garden with a great view over Prague, relaxed atmosphere. Perfect location.

From the moment we arrived we thought what a magical place this was, especially when you consider it's history. Approaching the hotel gives you a sense of being part of history, as there is no reference on the outside of being a hotel. We were greeted by a very bubbly person called Andrea with her warm and friendly greeting who... More

This hotel is so unique and special with huge ceilings and we had a massive window in our room too. It was surreal to be staying in such a historical place. The hotel is around 20 mins from the airport, we paid 500 KR on the way back and 620 in the way there. The receptionist was lovely, very helpful... More

One of my best hotel experiences in Europe. Situated in the Monastry area, fine atmosphere, friendly and professionel staff, well equipped and clean, modern rooms - and an excellent breakfast. Preordered taxi to the airport was stuck in traffic jam - but the receptionist worked hard to get a replacement within short. It worked - and I was at the... More

Located on the monastery grounds at the top of the Castle district, this small hotel has wonderful rooms. There are great views from the grounds. The Staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are quiet and neat with a fair amount of space. The WiFi is good and there is a minibar offering drinks but also space for your own... More

Our taxi driver dropped us off a hundred yards from the hotel. Just down there he said having been thwarted by a bollard protecting a cobbled courtyard from unwanted traffic. We strolled along, gazing around at the beautiful buildings and there it was, our hotel. Greeted by the friendliest receptionist on earth, we had the intro spiel and were shown... More

Can't say enough positive things about this hotel. Stayed for 3 nights during September. We were greeted by the lovely Andrea who was very friendly and professional. She made you feel instantly at home. The hotel is beautiful and very peaceful especially when enjoying your breakfast in the garden. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to... More

Very quiet hotel above the Hradzin in Prague - be prepared to a bit of "mountain hiking" if you like to discover the City on foot. Otherwise there are good Connections with public Transport. The rooms under the Roof are charming with the bathroom on the lower floor and the beds on the second floor. We loved having breakfast in... More

We stayed at the Monastery last week for 4 nights and we couldn't have been happier with our choice! We were greeted by the lovely, super-friendly and professional Andrea, who let us choose the room of our liking between 3 that were available! First of all, it's quite obvious that the hotel itself used to be an actual monastery, meaning... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
