This hostel is superbly located, but that's about all in terms of pluses. It seems to be fairly minimally operated and cared for and seems to draw mostly youth who are into drinking, partying and "hooking up." Our room, supposedly a double, was less than 6 feet wide with two very narrow cots and not even enough space between them...

Old Prague hostel is well situated, located about 5 minutes walk from the Old town square, so essentially right in the centre. The floor we were on had an underlying smell of toilet, however it wasn't too prominent as it was masked by the smell of my mates feet which had become ridden with fungal growth in the form of...

During my hoilydays in prague (Praha) I have been in the "old prague hostel" . It's very good, very clean, with a perfect breackfast. People are cool and it's in the middle of the city, in the center.Rooms are good and clean too.

Quick note, this hostel doesn't take card payments and they don't accept Euros! This is a pain and a bit of a rip off as they calculate a poor exchange rate, we booked through hostel world and had €30.07 to pay but as they would only let us pay in Karuna it came to €33.00 roughly, I wasn't too happy...

The Old Prague Hostel is in the heart of Prague's old town, just a few steps away from the Old Town Square. There are restaurants, souvenir shops, bars and even a daily market on the same street as the hostel. We walked everywhere we went because the hostel was close to everything. The rooms were very clean and the garbage...

The location and cleanliness of this hostel is quite decent, compared to many. However, my valuables were stolen from a locked locker in my room on my second last day in Prague and the hostel staff were unbelievably useless. They had thought I had checked out (when I had not) and then had no idea what to do when I...

Location, location, location. This hostel's selling point is, unsurprisingly, its location. Right in the centre of the town with good restaurants around. Rooms are perfectly clean and the staff are friendly, the Wi-Fi and breakfast were both slightly lacking which stops this getting a 5 Star review. Anyone wanting to be in an affordable hostel in the centre of Prague...

Pros: - Spacious bedrooms - Lockers to store your valuables - Great location near old town square in central Prague - Fairly clean - Complimentary coffee/tea all day in the lounge Cons: - 1 gender specific toilet per floor made for long wait times to use the washroom or get changed! - Wifi didn't work in the rooms and was...

The Hostel is well maintained and clean. I reserved a place about 3 weeks before my actual travel. The staff is courteous and helpful. Rooms were decent (could have been better) and has a common bathroom that's in the corridor and is shared between ~16 ppl. Location is excellent since its just 5 min walk from the square. I was...

We had a really nice stay at this hostel. The staff was friendly and the rooms clean and fresh. The only strange thing was when we returned to our room one day, a man was spraying the walls with something and all of our things were all piled up in a corner of the room. Otherwise a good stay!

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
