my overall stay was good, there was a stain on the wall in the toilet that i asked to be removed, they wanted to change my room but i felt this was not necessary and they quickly cleaned it although i received a frosty farewell from one girl on the morning of departure.
I only stated in this hotel because I was arriving late and leaving early in the morning and only needed somewhere to sleep. The entrance to the hotel is welcoming. Reception is friendly and quick. My first impression on the room was “OH THIS IS BASIC. A bit of a dive, why am I staying here?” Yes the room is basic. Very basic. But has everything u need for a Place just to sleep with nothing fancy. But the room is SPOTLESSLY CLEAN. Clean bed, tv, shower and toilet. That is all that is on the room but perfect if just using room to sleep. Sister hotel “Novotel” is right next door which you can use immunities - spa, restaurant, bar.
You get what you pay for!! the hotel was clean no frills as advertised. Breakfast was typical... ham, cheese, salad, frankfurter type sausages, baked beans, muesli cereal and yoghurts... Staff we're not particularly friendly but we found that in Katowice in general.... It's a busy city not geared up for tourism... The hotel was very clean... if you need a hairdryer you'll have to ask at the desk and pay a minimum charge , there are no toiletries, but this is reflected in the price.... it's a 10 minute walk into town so it's perfectly located, there is no old town and therefore not many "nice" restaurants locally. We had a nice time, no reflection on the hotel but we would not return for a second visit...
Despite minor issues, it really is worthy to stay at Ibis Budget Katowice each and every time one visits Katowice. Everything works smoothly (apart from the air conditioner which gets a bit too noisy for my liking) and is up to standard.
The hotel is located within walking distance to the city center. It was clean and equipped with all that you would expect, and the sanity was good. The part I enjoyed the most was the great service from the staff. They were very welcoming and helpful. They gave nice suggestions and arranged taxi for me. And they were always with warm smiles. And I couldn’t believe the price I paid even included breakfasts, I was absolutely amazed by the experience.
I've never experienced so much budget ever in my travels before. The room was clean and conveniently located to the conference I was attending. Nevertheless, I was surprised there was no phone or a coffee maker in the room. Asia, the girl at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The staff was friendly and great.
A perfect hotel for budget travellers - I am not aware of any cheaper hotels. I love Ibis hotels. Nothing more can be expected from a hotel that costs just $23 per room for 2 persons. Good WiFi. Maybe the bed could be a bid bigger and the blanket of more natural fiber - as it seems like it felt somewhat artificial.
I´ve stayed 5 nights 09-14.04.2019 in Ibis Budget Katowice. I was not expecting too much but I had a very good surprise. Reception is open 24h you can arrive at anytime, there will be someone to check you in. Cleaned room and my towels were always changed. Everything very clean. Staff are exceptional. They know a lot about the area, are very friendly and quick. Very nice lobby with good coffee machine and sofas. I didn´t tried the breakfast. Located 15/20 minutes walking from the centrum and very safe.Uber to centrum is 10pln. Lidl is 2 minutes walking open from 7H to 21H. I´d just recommend to put a phone on each room connected to the reception just in case that there´s an emergency and also to have a channel for movies in english. Thank you so much for the great service and if I go back to Katowice I´ll stay in this hotel again.…
You don't get much, but you pay equally little, so if you want to spend as little money as possible, but stay within the city centre and in a clean room with acceptable standard, this is a great choice for you. It's a typical example of the ibis budget concept. The room is basic, no toiletries, no hair dryer, no kettle, only two sockets, towels changed for a fee, shower and sink in the room, small tv (France24 the only English-speaking news channel - funny way to show what Accor hotels stand for). Generous check-in/out hours. All was as expected, except the breakfast, which was really poor in terms of quality. So book without breakfast and go to 3 siostry or Kafej instead, both within walking distance. Helpful staff, they catered to my small request that I made when booking.
Small room with a shower in it (no separate bathroom). No free coffee, water or tea for guests (only for the breakfast). Next time I would pay more for a normal Ibis instead of Ibis Budget, because costs are similar.
