The hotel has an excellent location – everything you’d need and Rynek Glowny are footsteps away. Our party booked with short notice so all that was available to accommodate our family of 5 was a 2-room luxury suite for two, a double room for two and a single room. Upon arriving at our suite, we found the living/sitting room to...

Positive: The Hotel was beautiful. Attentive waiting and reception staff. Cleaning Staff were thorough. Comfortable bed. Able to borrow umbrella from reception Negative: We stayed on the 4th Floor (room 411) - The Corridor and our bed room were very dark. The Air Conditioning Unit was very loud and apparently constantly on - this disrupted my sleep. The room was...

The hotel is very local to the main square in Krackow. The hotel is quite old but well looked after. The service was great. The bedroom was lovely. The food and drink was very good! Breakfast is good. I can not fault the hotel. Would definitely go there again

I stayed for 6 nights with my boyfriend as part of a larger wedding party and really enjoyed my stay. Location is perfect, couldn't ask for better. Rooms are really spacious and have windows for lots of light. On the hole the staff were friendly, especially at breakfast. One female receptionist was rude and difficult. Love that you get cappuccinos...

Excellent location, dining room full of beautiful flowers, candles, old style Hotel, furnished in Polish style, rooms adequate if a little on the dark side, not much natural light. Bathrooms very small, and very basic. We had a walk shower, no shelf space at all, old stool in the corner. Towels, bed linen good.

Stayed in Pod roza for a couple nights in late February. Fantastic and enormous bedroom. A suite really, with large table, desk, sitting area, and wonderful large bathroom complete with underfloor heating, jet bath, large shower and plenty of counter space. WE ate in both restaurants on on alternate nights. Food was excellent as always and SUCH good value! But...

This hotel is in an ideal location, just one block from the main square. The rooms are clean and nice. The heated floors in the bathroom are a plus in the colder months. I stayed there twice and the staff is nice. The workout room has one treadmill, but if you go early you probably will find it open. The...

Just off the square ideal location. Lovely old elegant building. Were given an upgrade to the biggest room we have ever stayed in. Massive lounge with beautiful wood floor and huge bedroom. Everything very clean. Hubby has stayed many times before and I would certainly stop again. Good value for the location and the room.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pod Roza Hotel is the oldest hotel in Krakow. It is located between the Florianska Gate and the Main Square, in the heart of old town. The hotel is on the busy Royal Route, which leads millions of tourist straight to the Royal castle. Since the 17th century it has played host to numerous international luminaries. Tsar Alexander I of Russia, Grand Duke Constantine Romanov, Persian emissary to Napoleon Mohamed Riza, Franz Liszt, Honore de Balzac are amongt many eminent guests that stayed here. STET DOMUS HAEC, DONES FLUCTUS FORMICA MARINOS EBIBET ET TOTUM TESTUDO PERAMBULET ORBEM - Latin proverb, engraved at the entrance of the palace guarantees that nothing will change for the centuries to come: "May this house stay here until the ant drinks all of the sea water and the turtle ends its route around the world". Following its refurbishment this four-storey hotel, located in the former Renaissance palace of Prospero Provano, meets all the modern standards of hospitality. 57 Rooms are available, including seven suites. Each floor has a unique decor, from the stately and distinguished biedermeier style to the cosy contemporary arrangement. The colorful polychrome on the walls, historic tile stoves, woodblock floors, graceful stuccowork with the recurring rose motif testify to the hotelier tradition that has been nurtured throughout the centuries. Each guest room is equipped with air-conditioning, phone, complimentary high-speed Internet access, plasma TV and minibar. The bathrooms, featuring luxury Italian fittings and heated floors, are tiled with natural stone (granite, marble, basalt, mica). Two elegant restaurants are housed on the former courtyard under a glazed roof. Each has a unique style, decor and service. At weekends the food lovers are entertained by live piano music. ... more   less
