This was a late booking, I needed a good hotel located near to the centre of Krakow and came up trumps with this. The hotel is easy to find, located by the river, is in excellent condition and with comfortable rooms. The staff are extremely attentive and knowledgeable but the jewel in the crown is the food, which I found to be absolutely amazing. Sadly I am only here for two nights but, if I ever get a chance to return to Krakow, then I will certainly be staying here again. Ten out of ten in all areas, thankyou for being so welcoming and looking after me so well!
For twenty years I have been coming to Kraków to write about the city and its culture. I have stayed in tourist apartments, and a range of hotels. Qubus Hotel has without doubt been my best stay in the city. Choose a room with a view of the river Wiśla, and you'll have an extraordinary horizon including the Mariacki Church in the main square, the Wawel castle, and dozens of other significant landmarks, including a monastery on a distant hill. You can also enjoy this view while swimming in the glass-walled 8x4metre pool and jacuzzi on the top floor. You're in Podgórze, an up-and-coming district where old Kraków meets new Kraków, close to the MOCAK art gallery and Schindler factory. Cross the bridge and you're in the heart of the Jewish district, or take the tram for four stops to the old town. It's an ideal location for walking/exploring the war-time history of the area, or for sampling the emerging hipster cafes, or for hopping on that tram to the centre. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished, with more attention to detail than is often the case in Poland. Breakfast offers a large range of good quality ingredients, and there's a small and stylish cafe-bar in the entrance foyer. I found the staff very friendly and welcoming. I strongly recommend this hotel for first-time and regular visitors to Kraków alike. I shall certainly be choosing Qubus again for my next visits.…
We stayed here for a full week and on check out still have not had one smile from the efficient but unfriendly staff. The food is very good, the mattresses or bases are so soft that to move -you can fall out.The spa is nice and we are pleased that numbers were restricted owing to covid- ortherwise would be too small. View from up here very nice.
Great hotel, we love the spa facilities. The view of the city from the swimming pool area was great. Our room was very clean and receptionists were friendly. The only one small complaint we had was we arrived late and we didnt realise there were two entrances and no one didnt pickup when we rang the intercom and we spent 15-20mins trying to get ahold of someone at 2am.
After searching the web for 4* hotels we decided to choose the Qubus as it had a pool. Well I should have read other visitor reviews as I concur with many of the disappointed customers. Good points are the great quality breakfast and modern looking reception. The pool area is nice and although small, was big enough to swim some lengths. That’s it I’m afraid. The air conditioning is poor and didn’t cool the room. Someone was sent up to fix it but it didn’t make a difference. The mattresses are so soft that when you sit on the edge of the bed you almost touch the floor! Our backs suffered because of the poor mattresses. Many of the staff (not all) were surly and rude - customer service training needs to take place. The hotel is a long walk from the main square - the walk is nice the first couple of times but got boring by day 3. The room decor is dated and the showers are very weak/old. All in all I would say this is a 3* hotel with a pool (which is where it probably gets its fourth star from on the rating criteria). We have stayed twice in Krakow, both times at much nicer places (Andels House and the Novotel), which had lovely rooms and customer service, and were better priced. Qubus could be great if management gives attention to various aspects. At the moment I wouldn’t recommend it. What a shame. …
