We loved Budapest. The owner sat down with us and gave us some wonderful tips. His advice really helped, and that is one huge factor when I select hotels. Local input. These guys are tops at it. I think I've read someone else is managing the place now. I would call to check. The hotel is nice, but what made...

This guest house is now being managed from a dentists' office under the 'Artoral' name. The place is still well-kept, but the contacts we spoke with had minimal English, and showed little interest in the tourist business. When we first arrived there was no response to the doorbell, and we only got access to the building 2 hours after we...

Quite a big room, very friendly B&B keeper who is a lot of help! Fantastic location, free WiFi and Mac available to use! Subway, buses, bank, exchange, cafe, McDonalds are nearby. And, of course, The Synagoge is next door

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Danube Guest House in October. It is located in a beautiful century old building in a vibrant area of Budapest. There are many restaurants, cafes and bars within a couple of blocks and many sights are within walking distance. The rooms are tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is included at...

The place is amazing. Really beautiful, even more than most of the hotels. The price is great and includes breakfast in a very good restaurant nearby. Bob, the host, is very helpful and attentive, gave tips of very good places with good prices. It was the best place to stay in Budapest. In the heart of the city (in the...

We spent three nights at the Danube Guest House and everything was perfect. Our host, Bob, was full of information and ideas for seeing the city. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The location is good for walking and also for public transportation. Breakfast is at a nearby cafe and it was very good. I can highly recommend this...

I would rate it as 4* boutique guest house, immaculately clean with a wonderful charming man, Bob, who,s door is always open for help and advice. The rooms are beautifully decorated. Bob has a jug of cold water waiting for your return which is very welcome. It is centrally located for everything. We recently stayed in a 4* hotel in...

Very nice and charming B&B, located in the old center of Budapest with a lot of sights just around the corner or in walking distance. Bob was the most helpful host - always available for advice regarding opening hours, public transport, restaurant and bar recommendations.

Since we found that relatively few Hungarians speak fluent English, it was extremely helpful that our host, Bob, is a long-time American resident in Budapest. He was helpful in so many ways--knowing good restaurants, suggesting sights, making some arrangements for us, and helping us get around Budapest. We enjoyed our visit to Budapest all the more because of our stay...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
