This was my third time to stay at Marmara Hotel and I would like to compliment the pleasant and courteous staff.Location is very good with train and metro line only minutes away. There was a nice food selection for breakfast and overall it was good value. James (Ireland)

We got a very nice room, comfortable beds and the flow of water in the shower was very good. I think the hotel is very dark, when I returned in the evening to the hotel I did not find it because the hotel sign was not lit all our stay there! Breakfast is very nice, not too rich but you... More

This hotel is well situated for main attractions.Room was ok,if a bit small.Breakfast was poor,we only bothered going to it the first morning. Most annoyingly we had to pay €32 for not vacating the room by 9.30a.m.The maid was actually shouting at us to go!

Booked this hotel on the strength of many of the previous reviews on this site. Very disappointing. the hotel is located up a side street near the Parliament building, and given the myriad of streets around this building it is not sign posted and difficult to find when you are not used to the area. The bedroom we were allocated... More

We booked this hotel through city breaks. We were really disappointed with our stay. The hotel definatley does not warrant a 4*. The breakfast was awful, tables were not cleared, there were no teabags. The hot breakfast just sat there all morning uncovered. The bread was stale and the toaster took 5 years to half toast a bit of bread.... More

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and whilst the reception staff were very friendly and helpful, unfortunately the restaurant staff were very rude and unprofessional. They cleared away tables when not finished and when told the toaster was not working they just shrugged their shoulders. Breakfast was extremely poor with only sweaty sliced ham and cheese, cheap cereals... More

Greatly disappointed. There were hairs on my bedside table. There were also hairs in the shower. The window in our room was filthy. The 'balcony' was very small with no furniture and a horrible view of the centre of the building. I don't need things to be modern, just clean. And don't advertise an unusable balcony. The buffet breakfast was... More

It's rated a 4 star hotel - I would have to strongly disagree with this. 3 star at best. Tiny but clean rooms. Confusing TV system - I didn't bother. WiFi in the room? Absolutely - in the bathroom because the WiFi strength was too weak in the rest of the room. The door needed to be refitted, it was... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
