Situated in an area in need of reconstruction in places on the edge of the original Jewish quarter and currently described as 'Soho'. Lots of restaurants and bars in the area. Rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. Used restaurant for breakfast only, which offered a good intercontinental variety. Quite convenient for local transport once experienced.

Hotel is located in the former Hungaria Fürdo (baths) at the edge of the former Jewish ghetto. The VII district today is quite run down and dirty and lots of unsavoury characters around especially at night. The only parts salvaged from the old baths are the facade and the atrium. While the room not spacious it's is not that small...

Was here for a long weekend with a friend. The room was a good size and very modern and clean. The rooftop spa was a nice extra with a pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Located in the center of the Pest side, this hotel offers great value. Walking distance to many of the main attractions, close to public transportation and to a myriad of restaurants. The room was large, confortable and very clean. The spa on the top floor is very nice and the in house restaurant is excellent.

We stayed a week in mid-April. Loved Budapest! The Continental Hotel was beautiful; the service was great. The location is excellent -- within easy walking distance to many good pubs and restaurants, and quite close to the Metro station.

Comfortable room though the view out the window was not great; friendly staff; excellent breakfast, very convenient (central) location, fairly good housekeeping; very good value for money; would recommend to my friends; would certainly like to stay there again.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
