My husband I stayed for 3nts at Continental Hotel Zara. The outside of the building was very unassuming apart from the beautiful sculpture above the doorway and the gigantic ornate rotating metal door. Once inside we were blown away! The reception area was impressive with marble flooring, a mezzanine floor where you could have cocktails and drinks. Check in was...

Dear JanboSando, If you don’t mind I would repeat a few sentences from your review: „Once inside we were blown away!”, „The bathroom was gorgeous”, „The staff were very attentive and helpful.”, „I have to say it was one of the best hotel breakfast we've had!” You made my day! Thank you! KIndest regards,

Located just a couple of minutes walk from the Szabadsag Bridge, a metro station, tram stops, and regular stopping points for the sightseeing buses, and only some fifteen minutes walk down, mainly, pedestrianised streets to the centre of Budapest, this is a first class tourist location. Modern hotel with smallish - and you don't spend much time in the room...

I used to like the Zara........ Well located. Good ten minute stroll to the Chain Bridge. Chic restoration of famous bath house. Interesting aesthetic with many original features on show. An efficient professional processing at reception. Room best described as adequate. Very compact but stylish nonetheless. Spotlessly clean. Opted out of breakfast at 15 euros a pop: plenty of good...

The original art nouveau facade of what was once a historic spa belies the spacious modern interior and comfortable rooms. Excellent location on the outskirts of the lively Jewish quarter. Spa and swimming pool much appreciated during the hot weather.

Hotel is located in the old jewish quarter. It is a 10-15 minutes walk to the centre of Budapest, with a metro stop just around the block. It is also located in the heart of the ruin pub area. The front desk is wonderful and try to do whatever it takes to make your stay a bit nicer.

the rooms were fantastic and the service from the front desk to room service was excellent. If your in Budapest stay here and you won't be disappointed. I was overwelmed at this hotel. They were very helpful in finding restuarants etc

Placed in the old jewish quarter, it only takes 10-15 minutes to walk to the centre of Budapest, with the metro right around the corner making the trip even shorter. The room was a bit worn, but reasonable for the price. The staff at the desk were really helpful. We did not try the breakfast as it seemed a bit...

The Zara is a diamond in a neighborhood that is not quite there yet. The Zara is located near the Hotel Boscolo, New York Cafe and the Hop On Hop Off, and many of the things we were interested in visiting. It is a moderate walk from the Danube, allowing us to see the Pest area of Budapest. The hotel...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
