Hi, if you will Travel by bus, you will get to the main busstation, which is situated a little bit outside the old city of Budapest. However, the Metro is situated in the same Building complex like the Main busstation , which will take you directly to the citycentre. Approximately 6 to 7 stops until you reach the inner City. I always took the Bus from Vienna to Budapest, which is way cheaper than the Train!
