My room (female only) is nice and cheap with private bathroom, comfort bed and locker. The staff are nice and helpful. It is easy to find food as well. But sometimes, in the night... a little bit noisy.

Staff very friendly and helpful. The hostel is very central with loads of cafes, bars and public transport. Not a lot of people hanging around in the kitchen so hard to meet people. Tho totally worthy of your travelling with friends and want a cheap, clean and central hostel.

Well, this hotel isn't exceptional but the job was done, it was a little hard to get there in the first place because of a card system that didn't work but in the end we got there. It is well located, not far from the Szimpla Kert, the city center (Pest), restaurants and other facilities. The rooms and bathrooms are... More

Me and my friend stayed here for 4 nights. Pros: -our dorm of 8 girls had a private bathroom which was actually quite nice. -the location is great. It's right in the Jewish quarter by the ruin bars and other attractions, but also not too long a walk to the river or hop on the metro. Cons- it was quite... More

I can't really fault the hostel itself as it was clean, in a good location close to bars, metro, main attractions etc and cheap but I didn't find it the most social hostel for a solo traveller. The kitchen was pretty clean and there was a big fridge to store food and there are cookers etc. Staff were friendly and... More

So a bunch of us went for a week in Budapest and wanted to see the city and the nightlife. The reception was able to recommend pub crawls, various activites such a booze cruises and bath parties. We were able to plan each day and the most suiting activities to do based on our level of hangover which was most... More

I booked a private room in this hostel, and both the room and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The location is really nice, near the city centre, in walking distance to numerous restaurants and a grocery store. However, I stayed here during the heat of summer and as there is no AC it was a bit stuffy in... More

I can’t write a good review about this hostel, but only for personal reasons. I had a lot of problems in Budapest but is not worth mentioning everything. In my first day I had the up bed (of a bunk bed), and the bed platform was cracked in all it’s extension. In the first night, the nice guy from front... More

Apart from it being extremly cheap, it also has very good location. It is located on the street where all the cheapest bars and restaurants are, so it is very easy to go out for a drink. Also close to the main attractions in the city. Bunk beds are big and comfortable, it has very nice big kitchen with all... More

Other than a couple strange experiences, this hostel was very good. The rooms were nice and clean, and had good sized bathrooms and showers. The kitchen was big and well equipped as well. The location was pretty good too, only about a 15 minute walk to the Danube river/ tourist area. Only bad thing was when we arrived, we rang... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
