Stayed just the one night:
- had excellent meal in restaurant, overlooking Pest. Food was very good, well presented. Staff is very considerate, warm and kind. They made us feel at home and did not mind our business dinner working at the table.
OMG! This property, Castle, Hotel is amazing! How can anyone not stay here if you are going to Budapest? It is a beautiful setting on top of the hill next to the Budapest Castle and Palace. The views are amazing and an easy walk down...More

My first time in Budapest and I picked the best hotel! The castle district is amazing and the view of the Danube river and Parliament were unforgettable. We dined at some really good restaurants all within 3 - 5 minutes of the hotel. To top...More
Been here many times because of its commanding position on top of ancient cellar/ruins in the middle of the Castle district overlooking town. Good dependable service, rooms slightly tired but still amongst the better lodging in town
The Hilton Hotel, located in the Castle district of the Buda section, is beautiful! Our room included a deep tub and separate shower. The magnified mirror in the bathroom was so appreciated. Nice amenities. The beds (two singles) could be pushed together. The beds were...More

Central Hungary >
District I / Buda
Also Known As
Hilton Budapest - Castle District Hotel Budapest ,
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many
events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.

Hi! I'm pretty sure I had read that there are restaurants open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as well as the dinner cruises (as well as some sites) -- certainly the Churches will have services over the holidays. Also, the restaurant and the bar at the Budapest Hilton would likely be open to accommodate travelers. But, I had very good luck corresponding with the concierge at the Hilton in advance of our trip, so I would reach out to them directly to see what they had to say. The only issue that could be a problem is public transportation and/or taxis -- they'll likely be on limited schedule or drivers of taxis will most likely be with their families. The Hilton in the Castle District can arrange for taxis or drivers as well.

Hello. We had an upgraded room while we stayed at the Hilton that did not face the river. And I was quite pleased we did not pay extra to have a river facing view, because with Hilton's location on Castle Hill and right next to the Fisherman's B, you can see the view for free during your wanderings on the Hills.
