We selected the Hotel Victoria for two reasons: (1) view of Parliament and (2) Rick Steves' recommendation. What we experienced was so much MORE! The staff was so helpful. They even packed us a bag breakfast with a gluten free sandwich, yogurt, peach juice and a banana because we had to depart before breakfast. The room was wonderful and the...

Lovely hotel. River view rooms are amazing. Really good breakfast. Complimentary afternoon tea is a good gesture but could include small cakes and/or sandwich. The barman was exceptional. Very friendly and attentive. Would stay here again without a doubt.

The exceptional service began before we even arrived, with the hotel arranging our pickup from the railway station (taxi driver exceptionally helpful). When we walked into our room and saw Parliament House from our window all lit up, we were amazed. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean. The hotel is within walking distance of many of the Buda side...

We had a wonderful stay. The location was central to and walkable from most sites we wanted to see but also right next to the rail if needed. The view of parliament was unbelievable. My favorite aspect was eating breakfast and sipping espresso in the hotel restaurant while enjoying the view. The breakfast spread was beautiful and delicious.

It is a lovely hotel right on the Danube with great views of the bridge and parliament buildings. The staff were very helpful. The room was lovely the bathroom was compact but very adequate. Just a short walk to the chain bridge.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
