Spent two nights at the Victoria following a river cruise. While the view was the very best in the city, the hotel is also very modern, well maintained and comfortable. It is a small boutique hotel with a helpful staff. I would highly recommend the Victoria.

Charming, no-frills hotel. The main selling point of this hotel is its location (walking distance to the Chain Bridge to cross to the Pest side) and likewise to the Castle Hill funicular. Castle Hill is a must -see with so many attractions(e.g. Fisherman's Bastion, etc) so we chose to stay at Victoria. Another selling point is the view from each room....

This hotel was wonderful – recently up-graded, large airy rooms, comfortable chairs and beds with picture windows overlooking the Danube, Parliament building and Chain Bridge. The hotel was immaculate and the rooms so good that we were all enjoyed relaxing in our rooms taking in the views in comfort. (How unusual is that?!). The evening and morning views were great....

My husband and I recently returned from a five night stay at this hotel. I had chosen this hotel because of it's location and I am so glad I did. The hotel is literally on the bank of the Danube River, with only a five minute walk to Chain Bridge and the Funicular railway and the Metro in the opposite...

Just returned from 4 night stay. Location was perfect. We were in room 93 and lucky enough to have one of the few balconies. View over river was as promised...parliament building to left and chain bridge to the right. Less than 5 minute walk to funicular and hop on hop off bus stop and in other direction it was less...

Fantastic views from across the Danube towards Parliament building. The room for three was spacious and clean , but the bathroom was a bit small. The glass screen over the bathtub edge hardly kept water off the floor. Staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was a bit lacking, though you could order eggs any way that you liked....

Pictures look better than the real thing. Location is good but calling this boutique is a stretch. The areas a little dingy but the view of parliament makes up for it. The area needs work and that adds to the average appeal of this hotel. Shop around.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
