This was the surprise of our recent trip to Europe. The Kempinsky Hotel is not only very central to shopping, sightseeing and public transport, but is a lovely hotel with excellent service. The restaurants and other facilities are magnificent.

Have stayed at the Kempinski on two previous occasions if anything it has improved. The bedrooms are large and comfortable and the hallways wide, light and airy. The focal point of the ground floor is a large circular lounge bar which follows the architectural style of the hotel and serves drinks, bar food and the most sublime cakes. The main...

Following maintenance in the spa at our hotel, we were transferred to this hotel for our spa day. Upon arrival, the spa staff were very friendly, helpful, welcoming and attentive. I had a classic full body massage and my partner had a back, neck and shoulder massage. These were both lovely. The only negatives were that the indoor pool was...

I stayed here on a business trip, the rooms are clean and comfortable, I stayed in two different rooms, the only difference was a couple of meters in size, the rest was very much the same. The room does not have Tea making facilities but can be requested at an extra charge. I did not have a great view the...

A Christmas trip to take in the sights of the city and could not have chosen a better location. The rear entrance of the hotel is sited right by the main Christmas market with all its festivities and enticing food stalls. Rooms (think we upgraded) were as good as we would have expected albeit a little old fashioned in the...

Location excellent and staff lovely, particular housekeeping and doormen. Reception staff a bit aloof. Excellent breakfast. Room not wonderful. Great view on top floor but small for a twin in a 5 star with narrow beds and near the service lift. Issues with cost of mini-bar and food in lounge. Budapest isn't London or New York yet the price for...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
