Just in the middle of the action, a great location. Rooms are outdated, and need to be renovated. Staff was helpful, although at check in, we did not have a good experience as the person checking us in was abrupt, and just was not interested in solving our issue, may be because hotel was full. Onsite casino great advantage.

The stay at the hotel was excellent, we were fortunate be upgraded to a room with a view of the Danube and provided several amenities, access to the VIP lounge for breakfast, lunch and pre dinner appetizers and wines.

The Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge is located beautifully on the river Danube. The sights and sounds are all within walking distance from the hotel. The room was very comfortable and had all the amenities. The staff is very friendly and warm. Would like to mention Dora at the check in counter who was most helpful with an excellent approach to...

My husband and I stayed at the Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge in late April. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a fabulous buffet breakfast that was truly incredible. A shout out to a particular staff member, Bernadette for making our stay so appealing. It was my husbands birthday while we were there and she was so kind,...

We stayed at the Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge Hotel at the end of a wonderful Viking River Cruise. This is a fantastic location: walkable to so many historic sites, markets, and shops. The evening also offers wonderful views of the city and the lovely Chain Bridge. The room was clean, the building was modern, and check-in was smooth. Breakfast was...

We spent 3 nights in the Sofitel, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Modern, comfortable rooms and bathrooms. The open lobby/atrium is impressive and inviting. The breakfasts were a highlight, with delicious foods of all kinds, nicely presented. The staff were so helpful and kind. All were great, but our own waitress was Alexandra, who was particularly good. She...

Just spent one week (on business) in this hotel, and the stay was simply GREAT. Although it's a 5 star hotel, people make you feel you are part of a family. Everyone smiling, always ready to help you, lots of good advice, no waiting time at the reception (always 3 or 4 people there) and some additional treats before working...

OK, get over it. It isn't a bargain hotel and doesn't pretend to be. But what you get is well worth the cost. Larger rooms, great beds, fantastic staff and a breakfast buffet I would pay to just look at. The location couldn't be better at the foot of the Chain Bridge (Pest side) where the trams, buses, taxis, river...

We stayed for 2 nights and made the most of the great location - we also had a view of the chain bridge. The exterior of the hotel does not do justice to the excellent rooms and very attentive helpful staff. Breakfast is ok - it did for our needs just - though some of the fruit was in short...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
