When one travels to Budapest the question always is which side of the city to stay. From our room at the Intercontinental we had a direct view of the river and the castle and when we stayed there was a wonderful treat of fireworks. Incredible. Our room was spacious and the linen and amenities were very nice. As I have...

Great place, fantastic view on the river, good location. The service was impeccable, and breakfast was plenteous. I would recommend this place in a second. For such a luxury, the price is excellent. Also, it's great the gym is available 24 hours. Small complaints I have are: the shower could use some upgrading to a modern facility, instead of being...

We spent the New Year's Eve Party here and was overwhelmed by the choice of food! The food quality was also good, but some could have been hotter. I do understand that it is difficult to do as they put out all the food well before people start thinking about eating. It is self served, which suit some people, personally...

The beautiful InterContinental, where we stayed for two nights in Sept 2014, was a wonderful experience. This Hotel is located on the Danube River on the Pest-side of this beautiful city & I can honestly say the hospitality topped our first impression of this hotel, followed by the well-appointed, spacious queen-size room. Breakfast was second to none, with everything available...

The Intercontinental in Budapest is located on the Beautiful Danube River with views to the Former Royal Palace and Chain Bridge. I remember talking to an American friend about InterContinental hotels and why he always chose that group whenever and wherever he travelled. It was, he said, because "there are no surprises"! And indeed that was the case with our four night visit here in October, 2014. Our room was on the 9th floor facing the Danube and with a glorious...

A terrific hotel. We arrived there in a large group, having just disembarked from a Danube river cruise. Early morning, our rooms were not ready. Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
