We had a bad experience as we arrived early in the morning and had to find a place around a metro station in Budapest. We went to many other places before choosing this one, located in a very beautiful old building, as many others you can find in Peste. No one could speak English or any other foreign language so...

I stayed at the red bus hostel as a group of 4 girls for 2 nights, during a 2 week trip around Europe. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and decor of the rooms. Monica was very helpful in recommendations for night life and getting around the city. Considering the price, the hostel is very central although rooms are...

My friends and I stayed in this hostel for 3 nights, 3 girls in a private room with shared bathroom. We stayed in the red bus 2 part, which seemed to have more rooms, but we found even despite this there was never a queue for the shower/ toilet. The room itself was lovely, 3 comfy beds plenty of space...

We enjoyed our stay at the Red Bus very much and would certainly recommend this to other Budapest travelers. The room was clean and featured both a private bathroom and toilet. The staff was very friendly and took the time to indicate the city's highlights and go-to streets and places on a map. During the nights, you can enter the...

We got a very nice, perfectly clean room. Comfortable beds and bathroom. Fully working Wifi. Our host, Monika, was great with us, she wasn't at the hostal when we got there, but a nice man in the bulding gave her a phone call and she arrived within minutes. We stayed only for a night, and didnt had much time to...

The location is ideal there were some difficulties with wifi while we were there so we got a discount which more then made up for the incovience of walking the two blocks to McDonalds to steal wifi. I also want to say that my hostelling days I thought were a little passed (like about 5 years passed). This is not...

The biggest problem I had with the hostel was with the shower because it flooded and you had to stand in water other people had been showering in. There was only one shower for women, and only one bathroom for women - however, I didn't ever have a problem getting into the shower / bathroom. The bed that I slept...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
