The hotel is slightly dated and there isn't an elevator. The rooms are spacious although a little dark. All the english channels on the TV did not work. Person at reception very nice and helpful. Not too many restaurants in the area, although there's a shopping mall as well as a little mexican place close by which offer good food....

The accommodation lived up to the ratings on TripAdvisor. It is an older hotel but the friendly staff makes up for any missing details. David was especially helpful - assisting with luggage to the second story, giving recommendations for 2 good restaurant choices close by, tips on buses and terms. The breakfast was adequate, presented nicely, but nothing spectacular. The location...

The hotel is well located, walking distance from the center, Buda Castle, Citadella etc. There is also a bus stop near by, @ 100 away. Rooms are spacious, yet not very well maintained, with some old furniture. The bathroom was bit afected by the mold, which you can easilly spot it between the tiles in the shower cabin area. Both...

My wife and I used this place as a base while touring Budapest for 3 days. It is a little out of the way from main attractions, but very easy to jump on public transit to see the city. We had the top room which had a fantastic view, comfortable bed... and a broken shower head holder. This broken piece...

A 3 star hotel but staff and location makes it even better. We were greeted by David, who was accomodating, knowledgeable and friendly. A/C was nice to have, rooms were clean and had mini-fridges , quiet at night , easy walk/bus into tourist areas. All in all an excellent choice.

I've chosen this hotel because of the price and the idea that we don't have to use the car when going to the old town. Both succeeded - the value/price was perfect and the location great. I was a bit afraid because of the main road some 100 metres down, but this was not disturbing too. The staff was very...

Staying in Gellert Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Gellert Hill
If you want to treat your camera to some amazing scenery, Gellért Hill is a must on your itinerary. A funicular journey from the Chain Bridge along the hillsides provides a fast connection between Buda and Pest, hoisting visitors to panoramic vistas. Once on top of the hill, you’ll find the Citadel dominate the landscape with its imposing 19th century construction, a site that’s hard to keep your eyes on without being distracted by the phenomenal view over the Danube and the eight bridges crossing. Once on Gellért Hill however, one mustn’t miss the famous Gellért Baths. Budapest is renown for its thermal waters and its baths, and the Gellért Baths are housed in an impressive art nouveau structure. Its interior design, with its many mosaics, recalls the preceding relationships the city has had with healing springs and saunas, traditionally used within this neighborhood since the Ottoman Empire.
