Great location very close to the Basilica. Extremely helpful owner. Information available on Esztergom sights. Hotel is clean and tidy with comfortable rooms and secure parking (extra charge). Good breakfast - typical continental with meats, eggs, bread and cheeses.

We arrived late in low season. The host was there to great us and out bikes were inside the garage within minutes. We got some excellent suggestions for restaurants in the area. The breakfast was plentiful and very nice. The breakfast was made fresh to order and appeared very quickly in front of us. The rooms are nice and there... More

Well, although the place is not the best option for a romantic getaway, I must say it was fine. My boyfriend and I found an offer on internet and we decided to book a room and visit the city. We added a note to inform them that we will arrive around 9 pm. So, we were waiting for someone to... More

This place has plenty of good reviews, and I don't disagree with them BUT it's too expensive. I paid EUR 47 per night for a double without breakfast in low season. I stayed in a comparable place in Szeged for EUR 20. I notice there are a number of cheaper places in Esztergom too, but I can't say anything about... More

We stopped here during our ride from Vienna to Budapest. The host was very friendly and helpful on arrival and arranged a taxi for us to go wine tasting in Slovakia. They have plenty of secure bike storage in the garage. The rooms were well sized and good value for money with clean linen and towels. You can see the... More

Good price kept our expectations low. We had a small double room as booked and found it roomy, clean and nicely furnished. It was quiet, had a fridge and good heating/cooling. The staff were very helpful and both the supper (one choice) and breakfast were tasty and filling. This place is near the Basillica and has a grocery store beside... More

Clean, convenient and extremely friendly staff especially Greg. All speak good English. Hotel has public parking and is walking distance to famous Basilica and town. For a one night stop over, I highly recommend this hotel.

I've camped. I've stayed in hotels, hostels and B&B. This place was, by far, the worst experience I have ever had. I arrived after 125km cycle and just wanted to get straight to bed. The owner offered my friend and I an upgrade from "the smallest room in the building" for an additional cost but as we were so exhausted... More

For a drunken person nothing is OK. He cannot use even simple things: window opener bar, air-condition. He hates birds singing. He wants cooling when the others are cold. He puts his blame to somebody else. Really cozy and nice place and lovely and helpful stuff. The owner warmly welcomed us and gave us some good recommendations about the city. The room and the toilet where wonderful, and the breakfast home made and very nice. The parking is not free as mentioned here.

We were welcomed warmly and the host spent some time proudly showing us around the hotel. Our cycles were securely stored in the hotel garage. It is perfectly located to allow guests to wander this ancient Hungarian city, adjacent to the massive Bascillica with its extensive views over the Danube. An excellent choice.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
1100 years ago Esztergom was „the first capital” of Hungary. Nowadays it is more appropriate to call Esztergom “the starting point for tourism in the Danube bend”. It is a starting point for people who long for Some cultural programmes Relaxation in calm Wellness treat Children attractions Evenings in high spirits Walking and water tours Familiarity with the Danube bend and the region Trips to the former Hungarian places in Slovakia Sightseeing in Budapest which is also in easy reach from here Taking wonderful air photos Or perhaps business or any other connectionsIt is really worth spending some days or weeks here in this town. It is advisable to organise the programmes from here. When “checking out” you will see and say: Not even a stay of two weeks would have been enough, there is still a lot we have not seen or done… But never mind, at least we have not hurried.” However, if you want to spend just one day here, Esztergom is a fine starting point also in that case, everything is nearby in this town, Basilica, castle, wellness-centre, you can forget about your car. Hotel St. Kristóf is also nearby in Esztergom.(So much about the marketing blab, and now let us share something “straightforwardly “with you.)Hotel St. Kristóf has been for about 20 years a reliable, always tidy and peaceful place of accommodation in Esztergom and the region. It may be too calm. – Never mind, our guest do not like the neighbour shouting It may not be trendy enough –Never mind, the guests returning will have the feeling of familiarity You may not have any swimming pool or seaside in your room.- Never mind, people usually prefer the really professional wellness centre which is five-minute walk from us It may not be the cheapest accommodation. – Never mind, you may know that sometimes the cheapest is the dearest We may gloss ourselves in the webpage? – That is the thing we are really bad at Maybe you could also feel well here? Just have a look at the normal and panorama photos, and if you like the atmosphere of them, your stay will be certainly enjoyable in Hotel St. KristófAs you can see Hotel St. Kristóf was designed mainly by Natural Life. By the way, Natural Life…The guests who do not let themselves cheated by trendy hocus-pocus tricks are returning. The number of such regular guests tends to decrease, or still does not? We will see…In case your interest has been awakened just look round in our rooms and apartments with the help of the 360° panorama photos. ... more   less
