Staff wasn't able to service credit card payment and demanded up front payment (which I wanted to do but via credit card) unless they will not let you in, this was 8 PM after long working day. Then this reception women (when I eventually fixed cash for her) started bothering me few times asking me whether I'm alright.

Given the location in remote Slovakia, it is OK - you clearly can't compare to a major city. It is an old hotel that really could do with some TLC, and suffered when hot last week (38c outside) as no aircon anywhere so was baking in rooms. Wifi only works downstairs, but will give you a patch lead if you...

We visited the hotel during a warm weekend. The twin-rooms are very small and there is no airco. When you open the windows to get some fresh air you will be awake early in the morning due to the noise in the street. Staff is very friendly. Nice location near the city center.

I have no idea how this hotel ended up no. 1 hotel in Banska Bystrica on Trip Advisor. Although staff are very friendly and keen to help, the place smells (not the rooms but all the common areas) and needs serious renovations. There is also no elevator which was not very convenient for my 72 year old mother who had...

This "hotel" was the worst I have ever stayed in! In a nutshell the staff are awful, rude, unhelpful. Rooms were dirty, our sheets had blood on them and we're not changed once during our 3 night stay. Breakfast was terrible. Once the food is gone it is not replenished so if you don't get to breakfast before 7am forget...

A nicely styled, if not slightly older property. It is located next to the state opera house and only a 2 minute walk from SNP square restaurants. ROOM- I had a single room on the first floor above the cafe. No noise problems whatsoever as there is an intermediate floor in between. Furniture and zebra striped headboard are Art Deco...

Very friendly staff and generally clean hotel but fixtures and fittings need refreshing. My non smoking room definitely had someone smoking in it recently! Very convenient for the centre of town. Parking nearby is difficult, especially at busy times.

Firstly as has been said before, this hotel is in a great spot, 2 minute walk from the main square and the museum (where I was working). I found the staff very pleasant, English literate and helpful. The room is laid very nicely, I did not notice anything unclean or out of place, the bathroom maybe has a cracked tile...

We stayed there 1 night in late September (stop-over en-route from Budapest to Krakow). Location is one block from the beautiful town square in this very quaint town (Be sure to visit square with great restaurants). Staff very very friendly. They have no elevator, and staff insisted on carrying my luggage one flight up. Room and bath good size and...

This was a good hotel for Bankska - we stayed in a suite, which had a concrete balcony overlooking the road that led to the main square (which is well worth a visit - one of the nicest we saw in Slovakia). There are 4 free public car parking spaces in front of the hotel - otherwise you will have...
