Very nice hostel and friendly host!! Very clean, a basic breakfast (coffee, toast, cheese, tea). There is a separate room to smoke on the same floor, which is very convenient for smokers! The host was very friendly and hospitable. He did everything he could to try and help us.

Great hostel! It is close to the city centre, about 10 minutes walk. You can't park your car in front of the hostel, but at about 200 metres there is a parking place, where you can park your car for about E 5,- a day. There isn't an elevator and the hostel is on the 6th floor of an nice...

We booked this hostel on line and are very happy with our choice. The beds are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are a 108 steps but we had help with our luggage and at other times it's like our own private gym! Breakfast is definately a plus and the kitchen is well stocked

We were a party of five and stayed in the two-bedroom apartment 500 meters from the hostel. The apartment is recently renovated, clean, very spacious and extremely well equipped with all necessary household appliances - and more. The walk to the old town takes 15-20 minutes, but there is a tram/streetcar stop 150 meters away. Though it was really warm,...

Having been limited to one previous hostel experience I was not exactly looking forward to this stay, the first on a backpacking adventure for me and my wife. However, Baron's has helped me get over my hostel fears! Okay, the entrance isn't exactly what you'd expect from a 3 star hotel, but there was a warm welcome (much warmer than...

the barons, apparently now renamed in funky hostel, is located in centre of the city, albeit it is a quiet and relaxing place. There is a very familiar atmosphere due there are not a lot of rooms. Compared to other places it offers a good price, a small self-service breakfast, free-wifi and internet included. I had a single room so...

Looking on a map this hostel appears to be too far from the old town. Actually, distances in Riga are pretty small, and it's just a five-minute walk from this hostel to e.g. the National Opera, which is the beginning of the old town. A tram stops just in front of the hostel anyway. In the direct neighbourhood are several...

We stayed in the hostel part of Barons as there is a private rooms part and a hostel part. The hostel is nicely located and not too far from the station. The firstthing however was that you have to climb 4 or 5 flights of stairs as there is no lift and also the hostel was cold and it was...

Barons is like a Private Club where you get all the luxuries and get to chat to other travellers in a spacious environment. All rooms are ensuite and there is a large kitchen. Great location surrounded by cafes, reataurants and shops. I will stay here again.
