We visited Riga in December 16. A lovely modern hotel. Clean and very warm. The breakfast was good but we didn't have an evening meal there. We had an internal room overlooking the reception area which made it too warm at times, but I would use this hotel again. It's situated right by the old town and the central market...

Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and clean. The only downsides are... the max' height of the shower head is too low and also the screen is not big enough so water floods the floor. Also the matresses are very thin and not very comfortable. Other than that it is a nice hotel. Great location for the old town

I stayed here with my Mother just after NY eve. The hotel is located perfectly justa short walk from the main centre but far enough away to not be impacted by any noise. The rooms were very spacious and very warm, I slept very well in the comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was of a varied quality and had a...

This is a modern, functional hotel in the city centre of Riga, opposite the main railway station. It's a mere 5 minute stroll to the shops, bars and restaurants of the Old Town. The hotel serves a great breakfast which really sets you up for the day. All the usual is on offer plus some interesting fish accompaniments. On one...

The hotel is just few minutes walk from the coach station. The bus no.22 to airport is right outside the hotel. The hotel is old Riga area, location is quite good, the attractions are in walking distance. The hotel room is quite spacious but a little bit cold for me. Breakfast is nice.

I found the rooms comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Only thing I didn't like - the sheets were too small for the beds - strange. Food was good especially the evening meal, didn't have lunch.

I have slept in lots of hotels around the world but have never had the misfortune of such poor mattresses which we encountered at this hotel! The mattresses were literally 3 inches deep and were so well used, that springs jutted into your back when lying down. After complaining, the mattress wasn't replaced, they merely added a further thin mattress on top!The result...

Although classed as 4* the food and general appearance were more in keeping with a 3* hotel. The breakfast food was wholesome but nothing special and whilst we had booked for half board the choice on offer in the evenings was limited and geared to western tastes. Having said this the price we paid was good value and the room...

Not impressed of Avalon Hotel.. The staff should have a lesson in service, the breakfast was not good, and the rooms were dirty.. When we were leaving, the reception tried to charge us 15 € for a towel who was dirty. Not going back!

The minute before we were taking a taxi to the airport, the reception tried to charge us 15 € because they had found a dirty towel in our room which they meant they could not wash...? If you're running an hotel you probably should expect a towel to be dirty from some make-up..... we're not pleased with the rest of...
