Seems that different rooms are 'owned' by different people so some are better than others, the photos here are of the good rooms, we didn't get a 'good' room so the price was too high. Obviouse "Akaroa Tax" happening but if you go here make sure to get the numbers that are on their websites, other rooms just average. That...

Hello honestreviewer2015, All the units and apartments at the Village Inn are privately owned and this is stated in the compendiums and the information sheet in each room. As each room is privately owned, they are furnished according to the owners taste and therefore are very different. We have no 'Akaroa Tax' here at the Village Inn, the units prices...

We just had two nights in room 61, on the ground floor, with a side view (bay window) of the ocean. It exceeded our expectations. Small, but perfectly equipped. The staff (Kerry and Angie) were just delightful and helpful. We'd stay there again--- maybe a larger room next time.

Really lovely time share properties which have seas views and walking distance to the Main Street, restaurants and shops. Clean and kitchenettes provide all you need for making your own meals. Walk to the boat ramp for the dolphin tours.

We decided to stay at Akaroa on the first night of our holiday mainly because, as we found out later, Bruce Springsteen was performing in Christchurch that night and accomodation was difficult to find. How lucky were we! We loved the Village Inn. It started with extremely friendly, helpful hosts. The location was excellent, so close to everything, the apartment...

The rooms were clean and tidy, cosy, right in town across from the swimming with dolphins. The lady who I believe owns the apartments was super friendly and gave us some guidance as to where to visit.

We were well looked after when we arrived but our room was a bit rundown and there was nowhere to unpack our suitcases into - like drawers or cupboards. We did not have a view from our room, which was not a problem, but we were on the ground floor onto the street. We were therefore uncomfortable abut leaving windows...

Awesome place to stay...clean very spacious room. We stayed in room 71 and had a great view. The bed was the best bed I have ever slept in. Kerry was a very friendly and helpful host. Close to the water and restaurants cafes.

It was quite a relief to get to Akaroa and the Akaroa Village Inn after a long drive from Kaikoura. The owner was very pleasant and kind enough to come down after hours to open up for me. The suite was really beautifully decorated, clean of course but also with modern natural colour scheme which was very restful. The location...

We were lucky enough to have two nights at the village inn. Our room was upstairs with a huge balcony overlooking the harbour. The view was stunning. The room was huge and very comfortable. The bad particularly was wonderful. I would really recommend these rooms as they are excellent. Also the owners were fantastic hosts. The inn is right in...

Lovely room and friendly host ... however we were somewhat alarmed to note a sign in the kitchen that a $30 charge would incur if dishes weren't washed and put away ... just hope the previous visitors had washed them properly. It didn't seem very hygienic for a 3 star motel and the rate charged could surely have included washing...

Hi Chris, Thanks for your review. It is disappointing that we have to put signs like that up but unfortunately, it is necessary. Most of our units have cooking facilities, so we aren't talking just a couple of cups & plates. Some guests think that leaving an entire kitchen full of dirty dishes is OK, which it is not. We...
