A last-minute choice: two-bedroom unit on main street - cheap and comfortable for a one-night stay. Garden in front, pub across the road, short walk to waterfront, museum, shops, cafes. "The door's open, just go in and settle in."

This didn't meet our standards. This might be the standard lodging for on the S. Island but for my 2nd day on the island I was taken back. Our accommodations were pre-booked by our travel guide (for our 2 wk. adventure) in which we asked for a 4 or 5 star hotels. We were traveling with another couple so had...

This is the second time we have stayed at this Motel and we had the corner studio room on the ground floor. This was very clean and had enough utensils to make a meal. The shower was o.k with nice hot water. The bed was very good and suited my wife who has a bad back. There is a nice...

I have read previous reviews about the place and was a little apprehensive about booking the place. When we arrived, we were expecting the worst. But to our surprise, it turnout that we slept very well there and we felt really comfortable. It is not be high-end or luxury. It is basic, clean and comfortable. I understand that it could...

Situated at the Christchurch end of Akaroa main street on the corner. We had a spacious corner room with a kitchen, bathroom and a very nice patio outside with a table and chairs which was shielded from the road by a shrubbery. The property was not particularly quiet as it is on the main road but for the price it...

Huge disappointment. All accommodation we have stayed in - for same/similar price - has been superb but this is sub-standard in the extreme. No attention to it in years it seems - cheap, very dated furniture, only one pillow each (are they rationed?). Even the internal walls are painted breeze blocks, not even plastered & finished. Remniscent of single men's...

We stayed in. Two bedroom flat at the 'town end' of La Rive. It was a cute and well provisioned apartment where we listened to the tiny creek right next to us (so soothing) and woke to the sound of a pair to Tui and Bell birds as well as other birds each morning. It was reasonably priced and Sarah,...

We stayed here in early December, the appeal was off street parking, location and free wifi. We arrived and never saw owners the entire time, we had parking and was an easy walk to cbd however no one there to offer wifi passwords etc. only one pillow which was poor! Property has potential just needs some attention

Rooms badly need attention. Shabby and outdated, cleaning needs a closer look. Black mould around shower step in which also needs repainting. Back of toilet not clean. Guest supplies not sufficient.. No sugar sachets plenty of salt sachets instead. Single bed in 2nd bedroom the base has collapsed so bed soft and saggy, felt like you were falling out of...

The motel was clean and the owner very friendly. However, the units are very dated and in need of an upgrade. The kitchen area could be better equipped and only one hob was working with made it difficult to cook meals in the studio. The location is great and with a bit of work it could be a lovely place...
