Small but delicious breakfast--distant views of the sea, comfortable rooms & beds with balconies, nice common spaces, free wifi in the common areas, friendly shuttle to the ferry, resident cats & dog all made for a wonderful overnight before catching our ferry.

We stayed here for one night, after getting the ferry from Wellington to picton. We were picked up from the ferry terminal and taken to the hotel. The same guy checked us in and showed us around. He was really friendly and showed us around the place! We had a double ensuite room which was clean and well decorated. It...

We had a great stay at Tombstone - staff friendly and very helpful. Good rooms and facilities and a really nice ambience. Great to be able to take the bikes and tour around Picton and Waikawa for an afternoon. Yummy scones for breakfast. We'll no doubt be back for another stay.

This is the nicest backpackers my partner and I have stayed in. Gary was very friendly (only saw Nikki in passing), gave us a tour of the place and he was in charge of brekkie while we were there and he did a great job - delicious scones! Our room was lovely, comfy bed, good size, electric blanket and right...

Not somewhere I would stay again it's mainly for people who aren't wanting to spend much money but for the room we got I must admit it was comfy and good sized with a well appointed bathroom and had free wifi and wasn't far from town so it suits the position of town well I can't say much for the...

Gary and Niki are super nice. The scones they serve for breakfast are awesome! Very clean. (Needs more hooks to hang clothes.) Good location and easy to find. They will give you a ride to the dock if you have a tour to go to. Book the tour through them as they know everyone. They got us on the mail...

I stayed in Tombstone on Halloween when they had a special night with creeepy movies and popcorns! They've even got a nice piano. Some one was playing a nice improvised tune which was quite impressive.

Access via a short, steep hill opposite the 'dead centre' of Picton. Wonderful welcome, excellent facilities, comfy beds, scones for breakfast. The proprietors were adaptable and accommodating. This is very smart backpacker accommodation with wwoofer helpers. The twin and double rooms are small but there's plenty of lounge and dining space to hang out in and meet fellow travellers if...

Just to clarify - the wifi operates well and at high speed anywhere within the day lodge, games deck and immediate surrounds (including spa pool if you're game). We don't extend the coverage into the bedrooms as we like to encourage a social interactive environment in our day lodge.

Gary and Nikki are fantastic host. Very friendly and helpful and very accommodating. Nothing is to much trouble and they are always happy to help anyone. They even put the Rugby on at 4am! Spa pool is a added bonus, rooms are clean and comfy beds. Showers have fantastic pressure and are hot. Enjoyed hanging out with the Cats! Would...
