I spent 2 nights in June (winter) in this very cozy, full of character and comfortable place. Free apple crumble was served at 8 pm so everyone gathered in the fire heated living room. The hosts dropped me at the boat pier as it was raining. It's a really short distant walk from the pier, one street away from Picton's...

Good location between many shoppes. Good price for a big and clean dorm, and comes with lots of free facilities, breakfast and Apple crumble for dessert. Staff were friendly and helpful. It would be an excellent hideout in the summer. Love it!

Friendly booking over the phone, so that was a good start. Arriving with no one at front desk I pressed the call button. After a couple minute I just look back, a staff member sees me, but it's obviously not her job at this time to take care of customers, so she just closes the door to the staff room....

A great place with a seaside vibe especially in the garden but also cosy with log fire for the colder months. Apple pie and ice cream served every evening which is a great way of meeting other occupants. Clean facilities and friendly volunteers. Good laundry facilities. Comfortable ensuite room with separate entrance made me a little security aware but low...

Warm showers, warm spa, beautiful gardens, adorable and historic house. I love this place! You feel right at home here. I ended up staying an extra day because I never wanted to leave! The staff are always helpful and willing to make recommendations for daily activities. Kitchen is well equipped, everything is clean and functioning. No complaints! Absolutely loved it.

Only stayed for one night prior to sailing on the Interislander. Great little backpackers with nice clean rooms (we had a double) and good communal facilities. Didn't get a chance to try out the hot tubs but these looked good. Only negative comment would be that the bed in room 2 was way too soft -time for a new mattress...

Spent one night here en-route to Abel Tasman. Hostel is in a rehabbed Victorian home. Convenient location to port and shopping. The in-house staff is very good and very accommodating. I slept in what is called 'The Swamp'. 10 people in 5 bunk beds. Not particularly comfortable. Cramped room and with the luggage of 10-folks strewn about it was like...

As soon as I walked in I fell in love with the place! It's 100 years old and so beautiful. Kitchens well equipped, bathrooms and showers are excellent. Loads of space in the rooms! Staff were great! Great bakery next door. Free wifi as well! Locating close to the high street, and an easy place to hike from! Oh yeah,...

Stayed here for 3 nights while exploring the surroundings and tracking Queen Charlotte: best hostel ever! Such a beautiful place with many travellers and stunning garden! The facility was very well maintained and the atmosphere in the evening is just very welcoming! Definitely will return! Great location as well - close to everything by foot ☺️

So I had to catch the ferry the next day and I decided to stay for one night in the villa. It was clean, the friendliness awesome and the travelers sweet and cool. I enjoyed my stay really. Sure, after 100 years, at some points it just doesn't look as good as you might think and it was a bit...
