Spent a night at Harbour View Motel after catching the ferry from Wellington, it was a rainy cold night, but the motel room was warm and comfortable, the driveway was steep to the motel room, but it was worth it, so much so we decided to stay another night, the bed was amazing super king,, the room had everything we wanted and the view in the morning and at night was amazing, the hosts were lovely, loved this motel will definitely be back as it was one of the most comfortable motels we stayed at on our trip from Pukekohe (in the North) to Dunedin.

Loved the great views and spacious comfortable and clean studio unit of this motel. It is an easy walk from the ferry, train station and the township but if we had taken our car we would have parked on the street due to the steep narrow driveway with its tight bends. Also, people with mobility issues would struggle to walk up the driveway. The glass milk bottle and little scissors for opening tea and hot chocolate packets were nice touches and the shower dome and heated towel rail in the bathroom were also appreciated. As is usual in most motels the lighting isn't the best for reading and the heater was barely adequate so we were not particularly warm. It was a cold night however, just 2 deg C at 8pm and below zero in the morning. We were sad to leave and would be more than happy to stay here again in the future.

This motel live s up to it's name. The view was excellent, especially at night . The room was clean, warm, quiet and with a very comfortable bed, Plenty of space in the unit to relax in. The kitchenette was very clean and had all we needed for a 3 day stay. The bathroom was very clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and efficient. Value for money. We would stay again.

The views here certainly are excellent. The room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. Easily within walking distance to everything. The only down size was the driveway. If you have a large vehicle i would suggest parking on the street rather than trying to negotiate the windy steep narrow drive if you are in the upper motel rooms. For elderly folk or anyone with mobility issues best to check which room you are going to be in first. Lovely quiet situation and friendly hosts.
