We booked a first lady suite months ago, wanting to get something planned for my 42nd birthday. This is the most I have ever spent on a hotel, and let me tell you - it was worth it. The Harrison suite was spectacular - beautifully decorated in blue and white, with spacious bathroom and the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever stayed in. The hotel is very close to the National Mall, with lots of night life, shops and restaurants nearby. The soaking tub was amazing after a long day at the museums. It was romantic, and felt like a major splurge. It was great to have the living area separate from the bedroom, and to truly enjoy time in the room resting and relaxing. The best part of all was the staff. From the moment we arrived, Tyjuan helped us to our room and was a friendly face each time we left and returned to the hotel. He remembered us by name, and was kind to suggest hitting up the farmers market, then the Christmas market that was set up near the hotel. We had breakfast once and dinner on the last night. Gio was our waiter for dinner, and he went above and beyond to help celebrate my birthday - even treating me to champagne and a dessert! I was a little nervous about going to such a fancy hotel - but it was casual and relaxed while delivering unforgettable moments. The lobby and cafe are gorgeous! I did the suite dreams package which was very reasonable and gave us our valet parking, breakfast, and mini bar items. What I thought was a once in a lifetime trip may become an annual tradition. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in DC after this experience.…
The hotel and rooms are very comfortable. Its located in great proximity to all there is to see in DC. The Staff is very nice, friendly, and accommodating. A really great place to stay when in DC. Enjoy.
Terrific hospitality; highly recommend Cafe Riggs for breakfast meetings and Silver Lyan for drinks at night. The space is a converted bank that is luxurious but maintains the historical details that keep it interesting. Very convenient to downtown - midway between Congress and White House and close to restaurants in Oenn Quarter.
Stayed three nights on a short visit from the UK. Beautiful building, great location for sightseeing. A very friendly welcome from all the staff and the sense that nothing could be too much trouble. Spotlessly clean room, with everything you need. The cocktail bar in the Vault (it used to be a bank) is excellent and definitely a must see. The hotel is relatively new and a really lovely place to stay, thoroughly recommend.
Wonderful room, old bank building is grand and the restaurant/bar was great. I would strongly recommend the hotel. A much more charming and intimate experience compared to a big, generic hotel. Great gym too.
Beautiful place with great food. The food was delicious. I recommend the buttermilk pancakes love the steak as well. The valet guy Garnett was just lovely. He was very courteous and very polite made our time there worth it.
Cafe Riggs is a must for drinks or dining. The bar is gorgeous. The sitting area is well furnished and comfortable. We had a party of 9 in one of the sections for at least an hour. Service is 1st class. Our food choices were excellent. Loved the decor of the hallways & guest rooms. Our bed was very comfortable. Plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower. Shower area is a tight space.
My family and I had a great stay at Riggs. The staff was friendly and the breakfast at the Cafe Riggs was amazing! The hotel and rooms were richly decorated and very clean. The location was better than expected - only one block away from the Gallery/Chinatown station and a few blocks away from the museums, the White House, the DC center and other nice restaurants.
The Riggs gives you the essence of the Washington DC experience! The historic hotel delivers! Having a guestroom overlooking the F Street Downtown Holiday Market was magical! The Riggs Cafe downstairs is equally an amazing and authentic experience. You’ll want to partake for breakfast and definitely dinner in the cafe!
Went over thanksgiving. The staff and the property was great. Ate at cafe riggs and spent some time at the speakeasy. Also the hotel is conveniently located. Only a couple of blocks from a lot of sites and the metro. I would highly recommend.
